You are right White. My bad. I use an older automotive search program that you put in the info and this was the page it went to. So much for me following the computer. Time to go back to personal research instead of relying on the search engine. Although, the rear should be the same according to the charts. I did put in only the rear applications, so it must of been my listing parameters that threw this off. Sorry.

Weird, you put in 4x4 and it shows the 2wd charts. Somewhere in the chart the word 4x4 must of been listed. Year, make, model, and engine size was correct, and it still went to this page specifically. Strange.

So... I contacted them about Precision selling Chinese junk, and the fact I did not get the part I originally purchased...., and O'Reilly has offered to either contact Precision and get 231's from them, or a full refund for them. I'm going to opt for the refund and get me some Spicers. These 331's are not any good.

Well lil Red has new door lock actuators installed as of today. Talk about a nice change. I also fixed the left hand door lock linkage. It was so tough to turn, but now it's like butter. Smooth. I still have to do the front wheel bearings. The weather changed yesterday to wind and showers. I decided to wait till today, but my neighbor came over and while talking to him, started on the doors, and ended up doing the locks.

I was checking around for a set of rebuilt injectors and came up with a set of actual Bosch 943's, not the knock offs, at an excellent price (Reman's for 43.23 for 8, with postage). As soon as they get here, I'll do the full tune up all at one time. I have new Motorcraft COPs, Motorcraft plugs, and now the injectors. I figure, if I have to do it once, do it right.

I need to run out and grab a Motorcraft PCV valve yet, but other than that, I think I'm set. I stepped up and bought a set of MC coils. My buddy works at the MC warehouse here. He got them for me for 138 plus 14 (10% employee). for a total of 152 for the set of 8. I figured if I was going to do it right I might as well put them on now. I was waiting to use these coils on the 04 motor when I have it stuffed in later this summer, but decided why not use them now, and avoid the rush.

I didn't get anything done yesterday. I had Dr appointments all day. It's hell when you get older. lol

It's going to be crappy weather today, so I've decided to go ahead and install my Android D/Din head. Rather than just waste away the day, at least I can get something done. I need to update the head, since it's been sitting since Dec 2015 in the box. I was too lazy to install it.

Luckily I have a desktop power station, so I can hook up the radio, and use the wifi inside the house to update the head.

I downloaded Forscan to my laptop last night and dug up my OBD/USB reader. I'll go ahead and check for misfires and lean/rich parameters. I would of used my tablet, but some things don't work with Nexus, but does with others. I chose to just do my laptop. It's faster and has more bells and whistles over the Android phone app.

The one thing that is good when I finish the Android head. I will have a dash read out of ForScan or Torque, etc, and live readings. I can go with a bluetooth or wifi reader or the USB, so depending on reliability, I'll chose when it's installed.

I did the same thing.... used my old XP laptop and my USB ELM327. It worked out sweet. I tried installing Forscan for Windoze on my Chromebook, but it wouldn't take. That woulda been my preferred device.

I took the Precision u-joints out today. I wanted to do Spicer 5-1350X's but my guy I use was out of them. He did have Neapco 2-0053G's in stock, so I got some of those. These are some really decent pieces. The vibration is officially gone... proof it was indeed the Precision joints. I snapped a couple pics to show the difference between the Neapco (USA) and Precisions (Chinese).... hope you don't mind me clogging your thread, AK.

Here they be...

Look at the cross pieces, particularly where the seal contacts the joint. The lip is probably 3 times bigger on the Neapco. The Neapco is also quite a bit beefier, and noticeably heavier.

If you look inside these cups, you'll see that the Neapco (left) has a three lip seal. The Precision.... let's hope there's at least one there. The needles are also beefier in the Neapco cups.

I may have to switch to Neapco myself. They are a very clean looking ujoint.

It is a common thread, that information flows from.. LOL. This a meaningful post and includes "thinking" about new Ujoints.

I am very impressed with them. Not bad for 21 dollars a piece.... only 3 more dollars than the Precision's.

I've been going to this place for years now.... I should have went to him 5 years ago, and then I wouldn't even be typing this right now, LOL.
