Fairmont's are on the Fox chassis. I've always wanted a build a sleeper, and these will take most of, if not all of the parts that came on a Mustang. Including the front clip.
I have wondered if that nose would go on a Fairmont for decades. It seemed like it should work but I've never seen it done. We had a Zephyr (Mercury version of Fairmont) when I was 16 and I partially learned to drive in it. I always wanted soup that badboy up but it only had 200 six. What a piece of crap that was, 200 cubes and less than a 100 HP. The intake manifold was cast into the head and the exhaust manifold was right there to heat up the incoming air. Who thought that was a good idea? OK, yes I know they thought warming the air would result in better atomization of the A/F mix but still. Total crap.
Oh yeah, I remember the entire gov. was driving Fairmonts in E.T.
I got the grille insert removed, then did a little Dolphin Glaze on some spots, sanded, and primed it. I'll paint it tomorrow, and start tearing into removing the old stuffs.
