Rough night sleeping.
Had this chipper camped out at the foot of my driveway keeping me awake.
Sucks, because I have class tonight and am going to the Police Acadamy training center to use the Use of force Simulator.
Think shoot or no shoot scenarios.
We will have a pistol that shoots a laser beam at the screen, and it will record where we hit the suspect also.
Or victim if we screw up !
I was hoping to be well rested but looks like I will be tired.
Only got 3 hrs. of sleep till it woke me up, and only 20 min here and there when they shut it off.
The joys of being a night shift person.
Thought the tip came today...false alarm, - 100 glow in the dark 8 mil rubber gloves, Acetone and Super 88 electrical tape. Guess I don't need to run to the home store....bummer.
After the TP is finished and since it's going to be nice out beginning tomorrow. EDIT: guess I didn't finish....anyway, I'll finish those bed stiffeners, weld up those plates, bolt them to the frame so the truck can be driven again. Then I'll be done with that thing for awhile.
Today I'll look for a bed again, just something better than what's on there in Oxford white. Maybe I'll get lucky and find something close.
I searched on marketplace near me and found one in PA. that didn't appear to have rust for $800. That's probably a better price. The hardest part will probably be finding Oxford in good enough condition that it doesn't need a repaint.
Turns out that DeWalt hammer drill will sprain your wrist just as good as anything else. I forgot I put it on rotate for a drill bit... then I put it on one a chisel that was stuck inside the old post... mmhmm. That hurt. SOB.

Unbelievable what they want on CarPart or Hollander in your area for a pickup bed Brew and they are all rust central. I could find at least 3 good to excellent beds right here in my area on damaged/non-working trucks. Most go for under 500 with t/gate. There are 2 Flareside beds and a fiberglass shell available right now in great shape also.
I know right. If I'm going to do it really need everything body wise. I looked at the cab again see If I could possibly salvage that....but no, no way lol. Not ready to head that far south for one....not yet anyway. Attempting to fight that and just do it. Not big on road tripping anymore...that's really the whole deal right there.
Came across some old pics of mine on google that I thought were long gone due to a HD failure years ago. I remember when this was, 2013 just before selling that house. Storing the truck back then, didn't need it, but began working the body here and there. Sold the house much quicker than expected and this is as far I got..... then just lost interest after the move. Got it road worthy again 2015/16, still looked damn good on the outside, drove it for about a year then gave it to my daughter. She only used it occasionally in the winter, never took care of the under body, really didn't expect her too, from that point it was always parked outside in the grass. That combination there rusted it out quickly...can't put them away wet all salted up. Could of did something about it though...just didn't, busy doing other things and let it go.
Anyway, yea, shocked to see these picks show up, feeling a little guilty letting her slip through my fingers for a spell ...
Looks like I'll get my jack hammer today. The hammer drill was doing OK.... until I got the bit stuck. Wet wood really swallows up a chisel bit.
This is what I got. It was 120 to rent one for a day, or pay 179 for this - and I tacked on the Allstate 2 year extended warranty. It has a 4.7 rating on 219 reviews. We'll see!!
