Hello Bear,
Wishing you a great weekend also.

Man, this place is dead. It's almost as if something happened and suddenly everyone has other stuff to do. I wonder what that could be?
For me it's summer. Pool is open, garden is growing, hiking, fishing, Gotta get that stuff in before it get unbearable hot around here.

I felt like I was the only one posting, LOL.

I've been working on Frankie... found another surprise last night. The rack blew the seal on the drivers side of the rack. Just ordered a seal kit with inner and outer tie rods. I'm going to give rebuilding it a shot.... might as well. The remans always leak, so I can't do any worse, right?

I have a manual rack I could throw in it... but I'm not ready for that just yet. BTW, I decided also that Frankie will be my test car for the electric power steering. I'm just not quite ready to get all of that fab'd though.

Last night I put the drivers side KYB strut, SVO rotors, SVO calipers, and the newer design 88 GT brake hoses in it.

New stuff pretty !

I believe you could do the rack reseal better just because you would care if it was done correct.
In my younger days I would yank and engine and rebuild it or change 9" gears myself (mostly because I was poor) because I knew then that it was right and used the best parts I could get.

Ah, who am I kidding, I still do all my own stuff because fixing it myself has become a habit.
I have a 4.0 SOHC out of one of my kids explorer apart now for timing chains. F*** whoever at Porsche thought it needed 4 chains and all the guides and special tools that go with it. And double f*** them for putting one of the chains on the back of the engine.

That's exactly why I won't own a 4.0 SOHC. I'd rather have a 3V, now that I think about it. The 4.0 OHV has less power, but also has way less problems.... and you don't have to pull the trans to do a timing chain. You can get to the tensioner through the passenger wheel well... might want to try to replace that first and see what happens.

Just got the passenger side done. That brake line was waaaay harder than the drivers side. I noticed that last night I didn't tighten the bleeder all the way on the DS caliper. Sweet.... half a bottle of brake fluid on the floor is fun. Waiting for someone to come home and pump my brakes now. At least the DS is somewhat gravity bled now

We had some unexpected company from the south, - JD #1 ran out of fuel a few hours back, sitting in the field for now. JD #2 going strong, - daughter is hosting kiddy rides here for entertainment. Installing a pool heater, healing in a 100" of 1" yellow poly gas line....certain amount of hand digging involved, - family is a plus here lol. Picked up a DeWalt PW, it was on sale...impulse, -couldn't resist lol. Perhaps I'll keep that one, - give the kids my old Porter Cable/honda....nahhhh lol.

Congrats on the new toy, Brew. I am still using the old Ryobi, LOL.

Sorry AK... you get to see these again, LOL. I need to get her up on all fours and bleed the brakes again. It's not quite right. Anyway, it's done except for whatever I'm doing with the tires.

Whitey - Pick up a Mighty Vac. You’ll probably have to slather grease around the bleeder screws to keep from sucking air around them (unless you install Speed Bleeders), but I haven't needed any help for a brake bleed in decades.

P. S. I got mine at HF. It was "their" brand, but says Mighty Vac" right on the unit.

Thank Buddy! My HF should be open soon. I think next week, IIRC.

I thought I'd post this here for any of you that use Amazon's devices. This is pure insanity that this just "happens" without much being said about it.

It looks like HF no longer carries the rebranded (sort-of) Mighty Vac, and the one they have got only three stars. Amazon has the real deal, though. https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B00265M9SS You might find it at one of the local parts stores, too.

I read that about the Amazon devices. Sneaky bastages. I got an Echo for free with some promotion, and it's going to someone on CL or FB Marketplace. The only reason I'd consider using it might be for "Alexa-only" specials on Prime Day, but there's nothing I've been keeping an eye on anyway.

So to keep a long winded question short, heres the amp wiring kit i bought (http://www.knukonceptz.com/mobile-au...tallation-kit/), ran out of speaker wire. Sub box and to amp is wired with speaker wire from kit. I need to pull signal from front speakers and no longer have enough wire from the kit... SO do I need to buy more 12ga speaker wire to keep it all the same, or is that way overkill and i can get away with 14ga or even 16ga? It would just be from front speakers to the LC2i pro. Thanks
