Default 7700s

I'm just learning of these. I was about to get a 2007 F250 for 2000 and w 4000 more, make it sound. But to carry 2500 versus my 2001 F150's 1000+, I'd pay a 2000 lb wt penalty. The 5th gear over my present 4, won't make up for the economy loss despite by going to 285's I can get its 3.73 within 1.6% of my present 3.55 rear. I may want a camper and not many are light enough for a 150.

Somehow I stumbled upon 7700s.
these were called F250Light Duty around (check me) 1997-9... and rebranded F150 Heavy Duty around 2000-04. Springs are different. The frame is similar but of thicker material. These seem not well known. 7 lug wheels give them away. I think they come 3.73 or 4.10... 2WD or 4x4. Owners hang onto them. Nice in-between. Think I'd like one.
Dang... just getting my 01 4x4 all up to snuff, too. BCA upbuilt tranny, 2" radiator. Heck.

Bill... where did you read about the frame being thicker material? Hadn't heard that one before.

Just checking in on things..... looks like I need to clean the garage, LOL.

Absolutely correct, Bill. The $10 cloth-and-wire ones from Harbor Freight have been on mine for years, and are still holding up. I'm surprised, frankly.

HERE;

A poster ssid the 7700 had a "larger frame." A Sr Mod adjusted that definition. If you can't trust a Sr Mod... well then - we're up.a creek.

A correction mentioned above as far as the frame.

The frame is taller, and a thicker gauge metal too....
[END QUOTE]

It makes more sense than "larger," but which can be a legit oversimplification. It also accounts for other.remarks such as, ~"a lil taller." And would slso have to do with beefier springs. If each adds an inch or so - you could easily see 3" or more in height. A taller frame would be like a taller I-beam or 2x10 joist versus 2x8.

While I am not in any way making a statement on if the frames are different, I just want to point out that the only requirements for "Sr. Mod" are the ability to type better than a platypus and an excess amount of utter boredom in life that allows them the time to be a mod for a long duration .

If Patman tells you something it's pretty much spot on. He is not just a "keyboard" mechanic.

Correct, - it's always been that way. Most definitely an earned trust. Patrick was part of the old Gen 10 bunch from way back when who helped a ton of folks out. Shoot, -Patricks still a young guy,...Seems like a long time ago, I guess it hasn't been THAT long. Shoot, - he was a great Tech back then...good man Sir Patrick. Yea, his user didn't stick back then, still doesn't today lol.....well, with me anyway . But hey, I know who you are talking about. A Makuloco vid had me thinking of Patrick not too long ago.. as far as Tech quality anyway. Both are very good.

Sent River over to him awhile ago, he was helping him out believe. They kinda had the same thing going on with the Coyote swap. Man that was a lot of work, the harness work alone...daunting. I think Patrick pulled it off though.

So yep, - his word is pretty much golden.

Yep, the sun sucks the life out them. What I didn't realize until recently is how fast it does. Tires aren't all equal, UV rays can take them well before their time. The white covers are tacky, just don't like the way look. Black doesn't reflect but will protect against UV's, and look nicer imo. I guess that was my dilemma anyway lol. Compromised and went with the black. Didn't get those installed yet, opened the package and they were fossil fart wrinkly as hell. I have to send those back and try again...definitely didn't look like the online stock photo. It was probably photo shopped lol.
