Look at this GM with e range tires. 60/80. It's a 30 series, but the same applies with the E rated tires. Good luck.

Yea, think I'm beginning to see how much different these tires are vs the average C rated versions. Basically, they require more air pressure to stand up straight. There's approx 10 more pounds of rubber per tire. That's pretty much what I wasn't seeing clearly.

I've been running load e tires for 70k miles now. If you run them at 50 front 65 rear your teeth are going to fall out.

Our trucks are lighter than 3/4-1 tons so you can get away with a lower pressure. I run between 42-44 lbs front and rear. I love the way they ride, a little stiff at times but it's really not that serious.

I'm starting to think I'm running my tires with too much air in them. I have load range D tires and I run 50 in front and rear

Just when I think I have this figured out lol. DrillRig, are they the same set of tires you have 70,000 miles on or your second ? Are they wearing well at that pressure...evenly ?

I've been a bit of a wheel ***** over the years, I have had 5 different sets of wheels and tires.

But, I had a set of Nitto mud terrains I ran at that psi for almost 40k, most won't believe me but they still had 53% tread life remaining at that mileage. This is per discount tire, they def had a ton of meat left I just got tired of the noise. Probably could have got 70k out of them.

The KO2s I run now have probably a little more than 15k on them and they still look new. If I didn't run my truck so hard they would be in even better shape. I rotate my tires every oil change religiously (5k mile intervals). And I get an alignment every 10k.

Another thing to keep in mind, 10 ply tires have far deeper tread than P rated tires so you will see longer life out of them. As far as being an overly stiff ride, I think you will come to find they compliment the fox shocks when it comes to road handling esp being a stiffer tire.

So none of your E's wore funny keeping them in the 40 psi range. The centers and edges wear equally ? Yea the tread depth was hard to find on these tires. Finally found (before purchasing) that they WERE 17's (17/32), but to my surprise they are almost 20/32 with both of my depth gauges. Definitely tread heavy , - which is nice. But mann, like I was telling AK earlier, I have a regular tire ( P series C rated) out in the shed I've been saving. Comparing one of the new ones to it, - there is no comparison. The new ones are heavy and rigid, like it's a military type tire, - bullet proof or whatnot. I was expecting a heavy duty tire, but not on this obvious. There has to be some kind of downfall or trade off I haven't found yet. Did you notice any mileage change worth mentioning ?
