Well... it's alive, oh wait... nope, it's dead. I drove it around the block a couple times. Cam back to my driveway to bleed the power steering (cranking it lock to lock 2 or 3 times), then oliver sudden the wheel went stiff, the amp light came on...... and.... I busted the damn bracket for the power steering. Soooooo...... it's dead again. A couple other things are that the starter sticks. I am also not too sure about speed density and this cam. It doesn't seem to be very happy idling. I'll have to mess with the timing after I get it all back done up again.

Part of me wants to take the needed pieces off of my 89, but I hate disabling it. I do have the needed pieces if it was a 351..... but that's not doing me a damn bit of good, is it? LOL.

Trying to swing a deal right now with a friend on FB.

EDIT: He has the stamped steel piece for the 302, so I am going to go get it from him and use the 351 stuff to get it working.... then I also ordered another new kit so I can replace the stuff I am stealing off the 351.

I don't know if the entire country is blessed with these little bastards, but I've got a few I can send, LOL.

I'm an idiot... I only bought the plate for the 351 swap, not the whole kit. Sooooo.... I my 2 hour drive last night was for nothing. I might pull the kit off the 89 for now just to drive the 88 around. Something isn't quite right with it yet.... trying to figure out of it's the speed density, or maybe I'm off a tooth on the dizzy. I am 99.9% sure I stabbed the dizzy right though.

I really don't care for the mufflers he put on it, so that might be part of it. I believe they are Xlerator band... they appear to be a Magnaflow knock-off.

If that 2 hours was round trip, ehhh, I wouldn't beat yourself up too bad...

Man, don't you hate taking apart something else to get it too work....that's desperation. Hey, I've done that plenty of times lol.

It's alive though, congrats! That was fast. Doesn't sound like the bugs to work out are too serious.

I took it for a drive.... it feels quicker than my 89. But it bucks and snorts because of the speed density, and even sometimes dies when I push in the clutch. I can't have that, LOL.

But yeah, I took the 89 apart to make it work. It's all of 20 minutes to get the stuff off of there and throw it on the 88 - it's only 5 bolts and 2 nuts.

The tag on the axle says 2.73, but I've got a ten spot saying that's not right. They feel lower..... or maybe this just has a lot of torque.

EDIT: The temp is supposed to hit 105 today, so I don't think I'll be doing much more on it today, LOL.

Quicker ? That's a good sign.

How in the heck did you break that bracket anyway ?
