the only added benefit of an apple tv box is if you have a macbook and screen cast from your computer to tv (or iphone to tv). and use apple music. Other than that its redundant to the other systems. Also as im sure you know you can still cast your computer and phone to the tvs, just apple to apple makes it that much simpler. Also no one is streaming 4k that I know of so unless you have youre own 4k games thats also useless.

No experience with Apple's box.... but I can say that I prefer the Firestick over Roku. I've thought about trying a Chromecast because of the same reason 2100 said Apple is great with Apple products. I've heard that the Chromecast works really well with you phone for several things, like as a remote. I always know where my phone is... with three kids, it's a constant struggle with locating remotes.

Yeah, I think I don't have any need for the Apple box. I think it will go back to them. Tonight I updated my Kodi on the Firestick, so I'm good to go again. lol

Does that one have the short lead on it, I need the long one or is it easy enough to extend the wiring?

Found out this morning that one of my friends from junior high and high school passed away early this morning/late last night in his sleep. They are suspecting COVID at the moment as he had not been feeling well, but did not get tested. Pretty sad!

Whitey.......I'm sorry for your friend and family.

Adrian......being a F150, it has the short plug. The Expy is a long one piece set up. The 150 uses an added intermediate harness plug to plug. At least this one does. I pulled it from a 150. The harness was cut in two by the collision damage. Getting this out was a real chore. lol

Saw these today and had to think only one thing. These will be a bigly seller after yesterday's briefing fiasco. lol

Odd question I’m aware, no one will probably know but
1. Does the overhead console require the speed sensor wire to calibrate the compass?
2. is there a specific connection I can desolder that will remove only the compass display and leave the ambient temperature?
also I need a new ambient temperature sensor, does anyone have a PN for that?

There's no speed sensor wire for the compass. It's self-contained. Are there vehicles where this is a thing? Compass direction and speed would be completely unrelated. As for desoldering something to disable it, hard to say, as if memory serves, it's all one board (but why would you want to?)

Temp sensor p/n: Cue AK in 3...... 2........

Ok, I'm here. Standard motor parts TX12 or Ford # AE5Z-12A647-A. This fits almost every Ford vehicle, so rather than spending 45 or so dollars, just grab one from a wrecking yard, and get the mount holder at the same time. You might even get the jumper wiring harness to really make things easier.

Is the sensor wire required to make the temp sensor accurate? If so that would make a lot of sense. Though make my job harder. And the new rear view has a compass so it was just a thought. The reason I thought the sensor wire was connected to the compass was for calibration. Ford says to calibrate the compass, drive in tight circles at less than ... mph. So that’s why.
