With as old as these trucks are and with all of its other limitations, the Coyote swap doesn't have much appeal compared to a lightning swap. Lightning swaps can be much cheaper. I think since so few owners can afford to mod at this level it's probably obvious that even fewer want to be the guinea pig for a completely new engine.
Definitely won't match the reliability or mpg improvements though
The coyote swap is cool, but unless you plan on building it I don't see the appeal. A boosted and cammed 5.0 would be sweet, but a stock 5.0 isn't ahead of a lightning swap, it just cost 4 times as much lol.

A coyote will bolt right up to the factory 5.4 engine mounts and the 4r70W that is already in most of these trucks. That transmission is capable of holding 600hp with a little work so there would be no need to mess with changing crossmembers, drive lines, or shifter setups. All you would need is a stand alone teams controller.

I'm really not that well versed as to how everything interconnects or if it's possible to just isolate the engine wiring, remove it, and replace it, without having any effect on any other system in the truck.
maybe if you could find PCM pinouts then you could see what all is feeding into and out of the PCM for both computers to see what they both have control of.
