That seems like a 4v could make that power a lot easier than a 2v.

Yeah obviously with more air coming in. That's my second choice to a coyote if I get lazy

There are 4v 5.4's (Some stroked +19ci) making over 500hp.

Stock stroke, C heads, mach intake, Longtubes,, 10.5:1 compression and cams spec'd for low end power. Of course the power curve does move up a bit but still great for a truck and Towing. this could all be done on the cheap compared to the more wild builds. Still more expensive and less potential Hp than a Lightning swap though.

An offset grind to 4.35, a 1.32 compression height piston the crank and use ls rods with a Honda journal would give you 19 ci. You could easily be in the 500's with the right cams, LT's and 03/04 heads.

The ease of a Lightning swap is what's drawing me back to it over and over again. I keep thinking how much power I really want though and if 400hp is all I'm after, then why not stick with NA? It'll give me more ground clearance without have a FMIC/exchanger down front and it's "mostly" worry free not being a F/I.

I was looking at whipples earlier, my mind is telling me yes, my wallet is asking what in the hell are you looking at this for lol.
From what I can tell even with all the supporting mods you aren't getting much over high 400s-low 500s with an eaton, i thought you could stretch them a little further

Just out of curiosity, how much power do you think a fully built NA 5.4 would put down? Like higher compression, cammed, injectors, MAF, maybe TB, full exhaust, some head porting
With stock gears (3.55) and stock tires (30") I put down 317/345 with cams, slight porting and 11:1 cr on 93. On e85 it made 336/362 on e85 with more timing. Mind you I have relatively mild cams to make torque. The 5.4 is out of breathe above 5000rpms because of the intake. My truck made peak hp at 4700 it also made beak to at 2600-2800 an held it all the way to 4200 before it started to drop. If I was to do it all over I would have went boosted.

You won't see 500 rear wheel in a 4x4....
I talked to a guy with build long block. 9:1 CR, CnC ported heads, stage II blower cams, fully ported m112 setup, 2.8 upper, 10lb lower, LTs and he barely sees over 450 rear wheel with 3:73s and stock tires

I don't go based off of rear wheel just because of how much it varies truck to truck.

I didn't know your engine was built that In depth. I thought you just had bolt ons. I can't really afford to build then engine now, I was just curious about stuff. Bigger injectors are a possibility this summer.

Do you think to you would put down better numbers expecially up top with that P&P intake Jbrew has?

with a pullied eaton, 500 flywheel is possible. Rear wheel is another story.
Think I've decided to forgo other projects and use some of my tax return to install the swap

If you do the 24 lb injectors let me know what happens. Keep in mind you will have to find a pi aluminum intake from a 99 for any p&p job.
