The only Ford specific place I know is Johnson's but they want $350 +core for rebuildable and $1800 for running 4v's.
There's a few 4vs at the two yards I go to usually. $159 each and you have to pull them yourself. Check pullapart.com and see if there's one near you

I thought that was about standard for a non running domestic v8. I haven't talked to anyone first hand that has bought an engine for this yard but I have heard of a few guys getting 4.6s from mustangs for in the 150 range to. Plus core charge of course

I like this place because it doesn't matter if the motor is a boat anchor or in a wrecked car with 50 miles, price doesn't change lol

That is nice. I would be looking for a coyote or a 6.2 if I could get one for 159 lol.

Forgive my ignorance but couldn't you take a 2v block and put 4v heads on it and be cheaper. Obviously the lower end will have to be rebuilt and have some parts changed out

Depending on the year of the 4v heads. Around me you can get the Navi 4v tb to oil pan with harness for $275 +$100 core.

Trucks newer than 04 are rare there.. lol. I would have gone the 5.0 route too if it was less than $200

I mean it was a no running engine missing some parts I thought 150 was a pretty good and reasonable price. He said there was nothing else wrong with it as far as they new. Idk maybe he was just messing with me or something. I would assume that a 4v would be a good bit more than a 2v tho. His prices also drop the more you go in there. I'm in there a good bit so they know my face and I feel like the are more reasonable on the price for some things

Yep, that's the place I'm thinking about. I only called on prices back when I was building the first 4v for the truck. I'll have to check them out again when I'm ready to start building again.

That's way overpriced for the 4v..can find them for around the 1000 mark

what are the differences between the 4v heads? I thought they were all pretty much the same thing.

Nope. The newer 4v heads have steam ports just like the 3v. Its to help eleviate the cooling issues at the rear of the heads.
