btw, Since m truck wouldn't run (no fuel at the rail) tested my fuel pump by itself, it's putting out plenty, around a 1/2 quart per cycle and I could run it up to 65 psi if desired, so that wasn't the issue. Somehow, well I know how now, - I kinked the fuel supply line before the rail and back by the firewall.
I was working on the harness, back there. Once finished my hands got stuck, couldn't pull them back out for time. Finally I just yanked them out, then went for a box of bandaids and neosporen...to stop the bleeding and begin the healing. Anyway, I didn't check for damage to the truck after....that's when I must have linked that line...doe!
So new computer w/updates, - freshly built HD and modified ignition harness, Burnt four coils, so it has fresh Motorcraft coils, two new feed and return fuel rail lines and she fired right up on the third attempt (stuttered on the second). No problem once the air purged from the fuel line.
Ran in gear @ 30mph, then 60mph and 65 mph for 30 miles. Changed the oil. I monitored the moisture burn off, - had quite a build up from over the winter (mayonnaise or milk of magnesia buildup under the cam covers). Anyway, it took about 16 miles to completely burn off.
Man, seems like it took forever to fix everything I fried on the old girl welding on her without a good ground..hurt her pretty bad, but that delema is over, now I have toe get back to working on the body and searching for a clean down south super duty w/7.3L.

So yea, waiting for that vid....sorta patiently. I no what that like lol
Crap man..... Well, with THAT engine. I'd pull it back it out pull the head, make sure everything was true and use , perhaps Victor Reinz gaskets this time if you hadn't yet.. I'd be plenty confident in re-using the head bolts, specially if they were new. Personally if I had a choice I choose seconds there.
So it sounded good ehhh....well there's your incentive.
Yeah, I probably won't be fixing it though, rather just towing it to a shop in town and paying for it to get done. Have to get it out of my parents garage and I'm honestly tired of working on it.

Dang mann, you sound like me. Thankfully 'I still feel like it' enough, but not as much as I'd like lol. I'm not sure I would let anyone touch it, but yea, if your in a pinch..... the decision is more less made for yuh.
Give it a few weeks, then re-think it. You can probably do a gasket job quicker than you think on that engine at this point.
Personally, I won't use Felpro for anything on these motors, - I lost that faith after noticing Felpro don't keep up with updates very well. There could be a couple reasons for that. Ford gaskets are much better IMO and they replace inventory pronto once the update is released. Also people I know personally have had good luck with Vic Reinz in the past.
EDIT: Yea specifically, I lost faith with Felpro's intake gaskets. 2 years after Fords revision date, Felpro was still selling the old version. Felpro had a HD line (I forget what they called them) but they thickened in correct areas for some F150 models. They were indeed heavier tho.
I'm not sure if there were head gasket updates, that's just my experience from the past. It may be different now, but I won't chance it without research.
Don't get too down. You will have it running in no time. Building your vehicle up is all about the trials and tribulations you face in the process and overcoming them. Everyone has a good story when they build up their vehicles. This is just another chapter Your truck is more than just parts, its a rolling story!
Plus at least you had the ***** to get this engine built up. Not many people will tackle a project like this. That's why i always like checking this thread out.
Btw guys I get my cam, springs, pushrods and go fast goodies delivered on Wednesday. Never done a cam install on a LS motor, but here we go! Shooting for around 410rwhp when im all tuned and done. I need to beat the specs on my ford!
