Putting the 5.13s in,I know some stuff has to be modified but your average mechanic should be able to handle it right? Or should it be dropped at an off road shop?

You're going to have to do a little grinding to get them in. Not too bad though.

I need to add an "average" mechanic may not have the tools or knowledge to accomplish this project. I've rebuilt Dana 60 ' s & 44's before and I'm still slightly intimidated. One wrong move and you won't make it around the block.

Not too many people run that gear in a half ton,so I'm sure this place has never done it lol. Just making sure its nothing too extreme.
I'll be buying some parts of fx4 and ibd tonight, then I assume my heads will be dropped at the shop some time in the next week and a half or so,then its all smooth sailing from there

They put 4.88s in their bronco, last time I was in the shop they were dropping a motor in a tacoma and a 10th gen so they know a bit.
One of the owners is a really cool guy,if there's an issue I know he will work with me on it he won't leave me hanging.

Now I'd trade the 150 for this beast. My first truck was a lifted 71 J4000. Love me some FSJ's!

I got my whole PATs system disabled by MTP when I got my tunes. My anti theft light flashed but I just pulled the bulb. I got it disabled so it would be easier to do a remote start I just never got around to it. I also only have one key with a chip in it and I refuse to pay the 130$ the dealer wants to program a second key. So I got paranoid that I was gonna break the chipped key and be stranded so this took care of that issue hahah

$130 is insane! Ford did two keys for me (lost my chipped key, found it 8 months later) for only $85,that's two keys programming off my vin and using a non chipped key to cut the new ones.
After you get two you can program them yourself and just have a locksmith cut the key

Yeah either the Ford dealership hear is run by crooks or the guy I talked to on the phone was wrong. But yeah I only have one chipped key so I can't do the home program thing. But MPT fixed the issue for free when I bought my tunes. Well I guess it wasnt free but it was included in the price of the tunes
