Try some of these from VLEDs.http://www.vleds.com/shop-applicatio...6-21-ho-c.html
They're a 3156 base, 1000 lumens. Worked wonders in my Ranger. Ya, they cost, but so does a rear bumper, tailgate, etc..
VLEDs is also supposed to be releasing a newer version license plate frame setup, sometime this fall. 3500 lumens. if you need more than that, you'd better just wait for daylight!!!

I just remembered, I did a neighbor's truck and we used these, which is the same socket for the '15+ F-150's, and they're hella bright:

A lot cheaper, too. I use the red version of these for my brake lights in my roadster and it really does make a difference. I just looked at my dad's lenses and there's plenty of room for them. Give 'em a shot.

Yes, those are cheaper, and brighter as well. 1200 lumens is a lot of light. Wish I'd seen those before I bought the VLEDs, those were $33 +/- each, for a 1000 lumens each.

Just installed these from Amazon:

JDM ASTAR 800 lumens Extremely Bright Error Free 921 912 PX Chipsets LED Bulbs For Backup Reverse Lights, Xenon White

Huge difference! I posted this in the "Best mod under $50 section" too, because it's easily the best $20 I've spent on the truck so far.

Many thanks to all those who posted about these! Now I'm going to look into a similar LED setup for the exterior cargo light ....

Did you ever look into the 1k lumen bulbs? Only $10 more curious to know if they are worth it?

I would think they would light up a bit better than the 800's. You could order up both to compare and put one set in the cargo light. just saying..

I"m pretty happy with the 800's.

Yes, I have a set on my Ranger. You really don't want to look too long, even in daylight.

Cool, that will be a great comparison.
