I been using the Philips LED 921 bulbs for reverse lights in my Recon tail lamps for about 14 months, no issue with the bulbs getting too hot. In fact, no issues at all with these bulbs.

I've tried a couple different bulbs including the Philips 921 and the superbrightled 921. Both look great but the superbrightled is better than the Philips, I actually moved the Philips up the the housing above my rear window and it looks great there. Here's a few pics of the SBL in my truck tonight....

Pretty happy with my JDM AStar 800's. They are way better than the LED's I had in there previously. They were some no name I picked up from a local autoparts store.

Bought the JDM Astar 800's for my 2016 F-150 but they don't fit. Is there an adapter or different plug that must be used?

If you cross reference against the owners manual what does it say?

It says I'm stupid! At least now my Daughter's Chevy Cruze have super reverse lights.

So can I use the old 921's anywhere else on the truck? I already put some on the bed light.

Off the top of my head, our cargo/bed lights and reverse lights are pretty much interchangeable, and the only other places where a T10 base like these will fit is the front side marker (behind amber lenses) and the front interior map lights above the rear-view mirror. Even though it's the same socket, I don't think either location will have enough clearance for the length of the bulbs we've been testing for reverse lamps.
