Special thanks to Trigger13 for showing me the way and everyone else that posted. Is it perfect, no way, nothing is, but for $12 mind you it would be kinda difficult I think to do better for less money. No heat issues either and they do not get even close to touching the tail housing, like some others do.
I appreciate the shout out, I really do - but the real pat on the back is determining the true brightest lighting options available for our particular trucks. I'm pretty sure I've got them narrowed down so far. If any brighter options ever present themselves, I will post them.

So, overall for now, what's your top recommendation?

Some of us don't have the time or cash to experiment as well as you have.

Thanks...
I have the fancy projector ones. Had one burnout 2 months in, and I just got around to getting it warrantied. Actually that one is still in the package and I put the other oem one back in today while wiring up my pod lights. I forget how much I spent but they were alot more than 12 bucks, and your pics seem to throw a more even beam all over. Have you gotten the other 2 kinds to try out yet?

Some crummy pics on page 3 here

I wouldn't say I have the extra cash to experiment but it certainly seems that I have enough free time to donate to the cause. The iJDMtoy bulbs work pretty well, but they're absolute crap when it comes to holding up and their customer service is as ****-poor as their attention to their customers. Again - **** poor, and good luck if you ever need to contact them. Pathetic, and unworthy of any company that does business in the USA. Absolute failure, and anyone that expects the company to stand behind their product - forget about it.

Yeah I ordered them and they arrived broken. I guess, maybe I should ask: what is your 2nd recommendation? lol

Also do you have an XP80 option for the 2009-2014 F-150?
We offer free-shipping for U.S. forum members, please send us a PM to receive the code.

Our products are backed by a solid 3-year limited warranty and the best customer service you'll find in the industry. We have fantastic LED replacement options for every F-150 model year, and we've also put together this video explaining how our products are measured to provide our customers with accurate lumen measurements vs. complete guesses or "calculated" figures:

Thanks!

The main concern I was occupied with was the fact that the auto-dimming feature on the side mirror is controlled by the sensor on the middle rear-view mirror, My concern was if the middle mirror would send the outer one the signal to dim itself, and the reply I got today seemed to suggest that it would not function like the factory mirror.
Oh what fun it is to mess with delicate electronics, good luck and be careful. test and test some more.

Depending on your needs, remaining warranty and budget, you can put a multi screen iPad or other tablet that can be removed when not in your rig that is 100 times better than stock.

I need to find a way to just mirror my phone to the screen as the navi / anything OEM is so far beyond dated, it's not even funny.

And Microsoft just sucks all around for use in a car / truck, bad bad bad idea and trust me I know software, I work with it all day. MS in a car is beyond a joke, I still bought the truck because it's like anything else, it's trade off.

Not yet, but once the stupid rain stops and I have some free time, "maybe this weekend I will"

So far these are not bad, not what I expected most LED's suck, I hate the light they put out, not natural imho. Cree do make a better light than most, I use them all over my house and I'm fairly happy with them.

But I do prefer a strong burning glass light all night long, but the trade off is heavy heat, melting and other bad issues like massive amounts of energy loss.

Unless they can truly engineer a light designed for performance in this housing, nothing will impress me in this housing.

They would need to make a 360 LED type encasement in a 360 magnified surround I think to really get a good light output just using the stock housing.

Maybe this one?

So some form of cubes will prob be on order as well in the future to stop the madness.

But for $12 what can you expect, hell the one above is less than $4.00 a set geez?

Hi Nick,

I'm just really curious if the:
921 XP50 Cool White LED (pair) at $90.00 for the pair is able to give that much of a dramatic difference, even if the 800+ lumen is an inaccurate "electronically metered" number.
As many have stated, it IS a hard $$ to swallow over the other "cheaper bright" LED's that are available online.
I'm seriously not here to question the quality of the products....other than questioning & justifying the cost when the it possibly is not going to give that much of a difference compared to others.
The ones I got were 800 lumens & the 921 XP50 are rated at 410 lumens. But as you said, that 800 lumen that I currently have most likely is inaccurate.
The video does make sense & quite educational, thank you.

So....Is your 921 XP50 going to be that much of a noticeable difference?
Many of us (including myself) even have auxiliary back up lighting because how bad it really is in our trucks.

I will PM you for coupon code, and willing to purchase a set to see.
I really hope..... That I will see a big difference.

I will give an honest opinion & will take pics with OEM bulbs, vs the led 800 lumen I currently have.... And the 921 XP50 Cool White LED (pair) that I will purchase from you.
It may be approx 2 weeks for full review & comparisons.

The 410 lumen XP50s are a significant improvement over the factory incandescent bulbs and a very functional upgrade. We offer a 30-day hassle-free return policy if you don't find the difference dramatic enough, but quite frankly, they are extremely impressive.

It took our engineering team quite some time to develop the circuit design for the XP50, and they maintain their lumen output even when they reach full heatsoak. Many of the lower quality options on the market will drop to 1/3 the brightness when they are heatsoaked. Here's another comparison (I apologize if it's a repost):

Here's another comparison between stock 921s and our XP50's in a 2014 Raptor:

*Stock*

*XP50*

Thank you!
