I had 2 of those 'Kawell' one stopped working after 9 months and considerable bubbling of the finish. But won't shell out the insane money they charge for 'Rigid'. just my humble(cheap) opinion

They are indeed a nice light.
Don't expect turning night into day, though.

If you already have LEDs in there now & was hoping for a difference... you may be disappointed.
If these were at the price of their HP-36, it would definitely be better to accept.
Again, this is just my honest & personal opinion because I really expected & was hoping a completely different result.
I currently have the Philips 921's in right now, and imo they didn't improve much if anything over stock. I just need to be able to see enough so that I can use my reverse camera when backing up.

Never tried the Philips, ...but every LED reverse light I had worked better than stock. (Pic of my previous LEDs a couple posts back).

They were all "ok", but I definitely wanted more just like every one else that's why I was hoping for a much better outcome with the XP50's.

Our reverse lights just are poor.... period. In my opinion, It appears that the 921 LEDs can only do so much - regardless which manufacture you choose.

-Don't know what's up with the Philips you got?? Are they LED's??

Yeah, the Philips 921's are LED. I wasn't very happy with them though.

One last thing, be sure to double check behind the area you are cutting so you have enough room to install the lights. I only thought of this moments before I started my first hole. Thankfully I was lucky and had already drawn it all to miss the supports.
I'm going to do the flush mount on my truck. How did you wire it up? Did you run off of the existing reverse light wiring and put in a bigger fuse or run new wire and a switch?

I have two Kawell LED heads under my bumper...there's a pic earlier back in this thread. Half of the right side went out and Kawell sent me another. Now half of the left side is out. I don't feel like going through the hassle of getting a replacement. Maybe I'll just keep my eyes out for something else. I too can't bring myself to spend the $$$ on Rigid. I know they are a great product but I just need something better than stock. I'm not off-roading.

While I don't have the same year as youse guys, my setup is pretty universal.

I run a DPDT switch that allows me to turn my aux reverse lights on by themselves, off completely, or on when triggered by going into reverse. I ran a relay and +12v to the rear of the truck all inside the frame.

I use these as my regular reverse lights, though. They're bright on their own but with tinted back glass I needed more.

Low profile, not flush, easy to remove.

DPDT switch out of the way

Relay sealed, all wires loomed, gorilla taped, up and out of the way.

All reverse lights on.

Puts out a fair amount of floody light, no spot.

Sounds good.

I have the recessed now in my bumper, (originally had ones bolted under the bumper).

I would recommend a separate switch & relay (as mentioned above). This way the relay will take most of the power, not the switch. Plus you can turn them on & off when you choose.

I have my switch in the overhead KustomFX switch panel.
And here's a OTRATTW/Carling switch schematic. (But Anyone can apply this info to their particular switch style):
