I'm with you, also still no idea, but at least I now know what not to use.

I think I'm going to stick with my JDM ASTAR 800 lumen bulbs that I posted on page 23: https://www.f150forum.com/f38/what-y...3/#post4940605

In fact, they look identical to the Acme 921s that TRS has for sale.

That is great to see they work really well for you, maybe I should try this type of LED array then...

Seeing is everything....

But how will those stack up to the 1000 lumen JDM Astars? Or the other JDM Astars models? Which JDM Astar shines best for our trucks? Also if the iJDM shined better is it still not worth it since they have crap customer service?

Also are the Diode Dynamics truly the brightest? Are they worth the $90 for the xp50? (I'll gladly pay this before cutting holes in my bumper). Or is there a similarly bright led reverse light at half the cost? Is the other cheaper LED options close enough, or bright enough to see through my backup camera?

I went way overboard and it's definitely not plug and play..... But it does the job and is great in the desert

I would need to study a close up of the PCB board to see if it an be trimmed carefully by a dremel or other electronics snips.

But I would say then, the ones below are a bust for sure, hmmm, need to do some more research, thanks for testing them for all of us.

They're not a total bust - they just work better in the cargo lights next to the third brake light than the reverse, and they don't touch the lens there.

I considered modifying them, but there's a ceramic capacitor on one side just near the terminals, and on the opposite side is a bridge rectifier. I'd also worry about trimming the aluminum housing and how much that would affect the heat dissipation.

Even though I was dissatisfied with their customer service, these still are the brightest I've run across so far, and the ones that make the best use of the factory reflectors. Also, they look the nicest through that clear lens in the daylight - it just looks like they belong there.

I think I mentioned before, I've ordered these bulbs twice, and only on the ones that came in the second order have the projectors fallen off of. They still function, and a little dab of epoxy should keep the lenses on them.

How crap man, that is some crazy backup lights, love it, not plug and play, but really really useful if needed.

I'm getting dizzy with all the bad options maybe I will give a few a try and keep waiting to see how other report back. Are DD's better or just over priced, TRS seems to have similar low costs lights with good results from forums members, so maybe it's between these two for better performance, but nothing will be as good as hard core replacements / add-ons.

2. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00K3GBRQ2...I3E5RHBSVR10I1

Same type can be found on TRS heck they maybe the exact same bulb array for that matter.

Maybe these as well?

and an honorable mention from Diode Dynamics...

$90 the highest, maybe the best, maybe just pricey, are they hand made in the USE or something, does anyone have a true comparison of these led arrays?

Has anyone tried these? That I'm not sure about, so add those to the growing lists of maybe's?

See, this is kind of confusing to me. You say the iJDMtoys were brighter, but in a previous post you favored the JDM Astar. Is this specifically because of the customer care?
