What are you using for reverse lights?
Back on track about the reverse lights in our trucks...
No doubt the OEM reverse lights and/or overall design is horrible....
I personally changed my bulbs out to a projector type over a year ago - which indeed helped out tremendously and even looks good, but I still added a rear tailgate light bar with the reverse lights in the bar, then even added auxiliary recessed LED lights in the bumper.
(Never have enough lighting! Lol)
I already ordered the JDM ASTAR 800 lumen LED's to see if there is s noticeable difference.
Should be here first of the week.

You're referring to these, correct?: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01GGK6QDW...I2E0AU3YWSAYW3
I've got a pair sitting in my Amazon cart, ready to pull the trigger at any moment! You guys have caused me to waste so much money on these reverse light bulbs... it's sort of addictive and the price of entry is pretty low!
When you say the bulbs take up more space in the housing, they still don't touch the bezel or lens do they?

They don't touch the lens, by my estimate they're maybe 1/8th of an inch away at the closest point (outer curved portion.)

I fairly sure he has them all, so the test will be very conclusive.

BTW, it's 6:30PM here right now, and I'm just waiting for that large, luminous ball of fire to retire over the horizon so this little competition can begin...
He is running these they are a little diff, what I will wonder is heat, will it be an issue with the housing? Also the output is it better then anything tested to date?

$90 ? Respectfully sorry I am an PITA engineer and thus having a very hard time seeing why, unless they are really that much better, with a greater proven even brighter output, I just do not see $90 for two backup lights yet?
I do see that the magnified rounded led's are set in channels that could angle the light to a more focused point, but the trade off's I can't tell vs many led's like the second photo shown here, it all depends on the quality of the light emitting diode. The housing, heat generation, magnifiers and or any electronics to control the diodes to prevent voltage regulation issues per a diode.
Can you provide some more data and or true non bias comparisons?
Thanks

Well, I was surprised with the results, but the older bulbs, in this particular fixture, perform better than the ones I had high hopes for.
For the cargo lamps, these ones work fantastic, much better than the other bulb compared here, but for reverse lights, I hate to say it, but the iJDMtoy lamps make much better use of the reflectors and cast a longer, more even light than the JDMastar's.
The reason that I hate to say that is because my experience with the iJDMtoy's customer support is absolutely **** poor. I bought some of these back in April, and the projector lenses literally fell off on their own. My correspondence with them gave me three possible scenarios/solutions to my issue:
1) It might have been a bad batch
2) They recommended that I put some clear silicone or epoxy to reattach the lens
3) I was outside their warranty period, which is apparently 90 days, so they doesn't look like they're willing to stand behind their products.
So, that being said, I will let you all be the judges. The iJDM's look and perform a bit better than the JDMastar's (why they both use the same initials eludes me.) Also, the newly tested bulbs I saw actually touch the housing, I did not notice any heat from outside the lens, but it does bother me that they touch the chromed portion of the inner lens.
Pictures show the driver's side with the challenging bulbs on that side, the original replacement on the passenger side. Even the path of illumination on the ground is better with the bulbs I originally went with.
