Yep, although normally I only use it when jacking the rear, but in this case it was on.

Really?? your going to throw operator error into placing a jack under a truck at the proper jack point per the manual and then twisting the **** to raise it?

Thats like saying its operator error cause i cant get a Beer cap off.

Unbelievable.....

I do admit that being on the side of the road I did not have my wheels chocked, however....the jack did not collapse fore to aft, it collapsed to the side. So in my humble opinion I do not believe that lack of chocks was an issue.

And since even the parking break does not prevent side to side motion I do not recall it being a issue that concerned me as I had the tire in the air.

It was also a slow failure and not a sudden collapse. It was a material failure, not an environmental issue.

For those of you who bought a bottle jack, where do you store it in your truck? Which size did you go with?

A lot of the manufatures are forgoing putting spares and jacks on certain vehichles in their lin ups for weight savings in the search for the all mighty MPG! lol

Default jack placements

i agreen i have a 2012 and have experienced a flat with it. Was not happy at all so i took the factory and turned it into scrap iron. I now have a high lift jack and four way, along with tow rope tucked behind my seat, (with room to spare), that goes with me wherever i go

And cost savings.

I bought a spare and jack for mine and threw it in the wheel well in the truck that they interestingly enough engineered into the car.

So if they want to get more MPGs, why even make a hole for the spare? See my first sentence!
