Just to add some additional info, Factory tires and rims, and the jack in my opinion was not to its max point seemed to have a lot of travel left in it.

I read the title of the thread and I though you were saying "Jack Daniels" was crap. Whew, I'm glad you were just talking about the tire jack.

Hope you get your "jack" figured out. In the meantime why don't you go buy a bottle OF Jack and plan your revenge on the service department

I used my jack twice. Once on my '54 F-100 I was towing and it worked fine. Then once my '09 Screw 6.5. I was jacking up the back of my FX4, and the hook on the crank handle bent so it could not be used anymore, and the tire wasn't even off the ground. Luckily I was at work and had a forklift to pick up my truck with. So I just pick it up by the bottom of the hitch, and no damage to my truck!

Just last week a co-worker was jacking up the front of his '10 Screw 5.5 and he twisted the the hook too before getting the truck all the way up. Forklift time again. Now I know you can pick up the front end with a forklift under the tow hooks. Those tow hooks are strong!

I used to hate the old bottle jacks in the Fords, but I would rather have one of them than the junk they give us now. At least they worked.

I like to refer to the factory jack for any car as the "widow maker." I don't trust any of them

Yeah I don't trust any factory jack. My Chevy had a bottle style and it started to collapse when we were changing the tires, almost brought the truck down on my dad.

That's why I have AMA roadside

I have BCAA which is the same thing. I could change my own tire but it's easier to just make a phone call lol.

That reminds me though, a good solution to the factory jack is to keep a bottle jack in the truck. Small enough that it won't take up too much room.

Scariest jack I ever used was on my old '76 MGB. It was the factory jack. Totally worthless. Of course, since we're in the '09 and newer section, and for lazy folk, wouldn't the included Ford roadside service cover it?

This!

The vehicle rolling slightly is usually the problem.

I had to go pick up my brother when he got a flat on the freeway near my office. He collapsed his scissor jack with his minivan and needed my jack. I tried the one from my G6 and watched that one start to deform. I quickly realized that he forgot to put the e-brake on. Once there was no front/back movement of the van, there was no problem lifting it.
