As for the accessory connected screen, yes it does come up still on the mini when you use the Apple Music app but I use Spotify and Pandora most of the time so I don't have to worry about that.
I've noticed my iPad 2 in my truck takes a really long time to drain when plugged in...When I left for my vacation it was at half battery and It had been weeks since I've charged it, which leads me to believe it gets a trickle from the USB. Maybe I'm wrong and the iPad has a really awesome battery life, because Apple products are great...

It will be interesting to see if it's not dead by the time I get home.

Yea the USB off of the SYNC system does put out a trickle charge. For the bigger iPads I noticed it will charge slowly even if using it as long as the screen is locked.

I'm sure it takes time, but what would you sell these for? I think this one has the most factory look. Some others look good, but they do a lot of gloss on it. I like the matte finish.

My personal ipad dash is matte, i definitely feel that it looks more factory. So far all my customers like the gloss.. which is a pain in the haha

Well done!!! My dash piece is textured, was yours smooth when you started? I am going to order a new one to work on instead of doing the one in my truck.

Unfortunately I do not have the time to make these at the moment but would love to start doing them. I will let you know if I do decide to do more of these. I like the Matte finish as well. Thanks!!

Thanks!! Yea mine was textured to begin with. The piece I used was a little smooth but I still wanted that textured matte look. I used Krylon's semi-gloss black textured spray paint and it came out perfect for me!!

Nice. My concern is once I start filling and sanding, the texture will not be the same on the whole piece. Any ideas?
