Thanks I have noticed that I get a slight charge even though it says not charging I just don't know if it will be enough to keep it running in the -30 winter weather in southern Ontario.
so i have the mini in dash now but the usb would not charge enough so i used an add a circuit tapped in to fuse 38(delayed accessory,110 volt power point, radio) and ran wire to ctr of dash added a new power point behind dash, grounded to ip frame. so far everything is working great other then having to use voice to get to BT media every time i get in might try aux and see how that works

I bought a 12v plug that charges both iPad & iPhones. Once I need to charge I take the USB out of sync port and plug it into the 12v plug. Works like a champ!
