Yep, stock O-rings swapped were the ticket, still no leaks....too bad Dorman failed on that spec.
As to the fuel door issue, you can see my thread "Fuel Door Woes"....simple fix that saved me buying replacement assembly I didn't need, thank God for this forum and others!

After getting a leaker after putting the OEM o-rings in the Dormans I decided to not risk the Gates 90's, I think I'd always be concerned about them leaking since mine worked fine for a few weeks. So far I am the only one to get a leak after an o-ring swap so it could have just be random bad luck. I decided to just go straight to the Quick Connect (hence referred to a QC) delete and put in hose and plain 90 degree elbows. I could be completely full or crap, but I think the QC's serve no purpose other than making assembly faster at the factory. The fact that Ford sells o-ring and clip replacement kits tells me these things probably WILL develop leaks at some point.
I didn't do it, but it might have been a good idea to scuff up the metal connections to help them get a bite on the hose. I did not slip the hose down past the ridge on the metal connections, just butted up against it and tightened down the clamps. Got 'em as tight as I could with the nutdriver then gave 'em another 1/4 turn or so with a ratchet. SUPERSIX over on F150 Online did his this way and hasn't had any problems, trusts it enough to let the wife use it as the daily driver.
Otherwise, really not too much else to explain here, if you don't understand what I did then maybe this project isn't for you.

And extra credit to whomever sees what else I did in this last pic. Hint, no it isn't the Coyote 5.0L insert stickers. I already posted those in a different thread.

Gee I don't know... but I'm pretty sure I did it first!!!
Just a quick note 16 days, but not a lot of miles yet and no leaks with the Gates quick connect 90's. I was going to take a 300 mile trip but the rain and flash flooding cancelled that. I have gotten on it a few times pretty hard and still good. Also seems like my slight vibration is gone with this slightly smaller Airaid synthamx filter. It has more layers of protection than the larger K&N oiled filter. I will come back after I get some more miles on and post results.
Just a quick note. Speedtwin 32 told me his Dorman quick connect 90's with the OEM O rings are still perfect and not have not leaked a drop. He probably has put over 3,000 miles on them by now since he travels 100 miles a day. My gates quick connect 90's have been perfect also and not leaked a drop. Several hundred miles on mine now. Quick tip if you decide to use these quick connects push both O rings and the middle washer all the way back in the 90 housing. Then lubricate/rube the O rings with some coolant and put some on the metal hose pipe. Then Align the locking tabs on the clip on the metal barb up with the receiving slots on the quick connect housing on the 90. Then gently center and slide the quick connect 90 onto the pipe and clip until it locks on both sides. If it doesn't want to go on do not force it. check it and try again. That way you should not get one rolled or twisted out of a complete straight circle inside.
