Default Engine Cover

Considering the 5.0L engine in the F150 and Mustang is the same does anyone know if this 5.0 plastic cover will work in our trucks? I think this would make the engine cosmetically look a lot better. And if so, can you buy it anywhere, the dealer?

I have the Boss's Powered By Ford valve covers & this cover. I need ball studs to mount the valve covers.

I know I will have to alter the top cover. More to come...

I have the same cover. Even the Ford parts guys couldn't get me the ball studs. I went to the hardware store and bought 6 metric (M6) allen head screws and they will thread themselves into the plastic valve cover just fine. Leave them out enough to let the rubber grommet grab the head of the bolt. Worked great.

Not the best pics, but it does show how much this engine could be better with a little clean up IF we can get that mustang cover in the OP to fit.

What was the issue(s) keeping it from fitting?

Like the look!

Will it cause extra heat buildup to the engine?

I doubt that would be an issue as these are the covers for the 12 Boss Mustang and the GT's have a gray cover. I'm not real worried about it.
