Issue: Cannot default the My Ford Sync system (without Navigation) to Bluetooth audio

Some users are having an issue with when they turn the ignition on their My Ford Sync system reverts to Line-In even though they were using Bluetooth audio when they turn their vehicle off. They would like to have the system revert back to Bluetooth audio instead of having to go through the menus to be able to get to Bluetooth audio or use the voice commands. A Ford customer service representative FordIVTteam actually joined in the conversation and gave the reason why Ford made this change (as it would previously revert to Bluetooth) and the best method to get back to the source they wanted.

Thanks.
Not new. If you went under Applications Spotify popped up on my old SYNC version as well but the screen on the phone went black and you couldn't search or use the phone to change songs. One of the reasons I upgraded SYNC versions. Now, I just use the bluetooth audio and I can use my phone as I normally would. Much better way to do it.

I think 4.6 might be for non-touch versions. I only show 3.7 as well.

Yep, 4.6 is Sync only; Sync/MFT is a different animal.

I've got a iPad Mini float mount dash kit so if I didn't have so much money invested in it maybe I would do the double din too. I'm interested in a new truck in the next year so no point. FoMoCo wins...
i debated going that route myself but i'm really glad i didnt. you could always sell the float mount dash kit and put the stock piece back in and go double din!

only thing i can not decide on is wether i want to go double din or flip out. i've always had a soft spot for flip out decks! pioneer has got a nice unit that i've got my eyes set on.

Weird thing is it seems like remote start makes it have a higher chance of the Bluetooth not being active when I turn it on.

I'm just going to put the truck back to stock and sell the dash and the truck.

If you're out of range of the Bluetooth radio (which isn't hard--BT is a short-range radio), it won't be able to establish the connection and will fall back to a different input. The same thing would happen if you left your phone in the house and started the truck.

Folks,
I have a 2013 F150 KR w Sync/MyFordTouch/Nav. I have hated it pretty much from day one. Very slow, cumbersome and annoying quirks such as defaulting to this one particular song everytime I plug it in to the usbs in console. Also, when I connect a device via Bluetooth, sometimes it stays connected, other times it goes silent/pause mode every 1 minute. Very frustrating system. Im just wondering if there might be a firmware upgrade that someone here knows about that may fix some of these issues? A friend has the newer Sync that came out i 2016 models and my gosh it is pure heaven compared to my version. Thanks for any advice!

I would also like to add that I am also considering an upgrade to the new Alpine ILX-107 - which is the first wireless CarPlay head unit I am told. Has anyone done this?

That could certainly be a possibility for others. However for myself the BT device is already in the vehicle.

Yesterday while driving the Sync was working correctly until all of a sudden it just disconnects, 15 minutes later turns back on..
