Issue: Cannot default the My Ford Sync system (without Navigation) to Bluetooth audio

Some users are having an issue with when they turn the ignition on their My Ford Sync system reverts to Line-In even though they were using Bluetooth audio when they turn their vehicle off. They would like to have the system revert back to Bluetooth audio instead of having to go through the menus to be able to get to Bluetooth audio or use the voice commands. A Ford customer service representative FordIVTteam actually joined in the conversation and gave the reason why Ford made this change (as it would previously revert to Bluetooth) and the best method to get back to the source they wanted.

Can Sync default to Bluetooth Audio?

Updated mine to 4.6 and it will not default to bluetooth when restarted. Just goes to line in.
Are you just listening to Bluetooth then shutting off the truck and upon restart it will pick back up were you left off?

My older version defaults to line in if it can not connect to my phone. If I remote start it or forget my phone or the phone is dead.

As for auto playing, I use the "Bluetooth Connect and Play" app to start spotify and play when SYNC connects. This is an Android issue, not sync.

Just updated mine - 2013 xlt v8 - and now the bluetooth audio works like a champ. It's been a few days since the upgrade and every time I leave the vehicle and return it picks up right where it left off.

Wow the last time I posted in this thread was in October 2015. Man I'm such a freaking moron. I've been dealing with this bs of sync periodically not working for this long now? Jeez..

There's been several times over the last year where I've had to pull into a random parking lot and pull the fuse to reset sync. Hell, sometimes I get off work and it won't connect so I'm out in our lot there doing the same damn thing. No more of this crap. Im going to get myself a double din with android auto and be done with it.

This is exactly what happens to me. A lot of times a restart of the truck will work but it's pretty annoying to have to put extra wear and tear on the motor for the Sync system to power up Bluetooth. Also make sure you open the door and pull the key completely out otherwise it won't work.

I've got a iPad Mini float mount dash kit so if I didn't have so much money invested in it maybe I would do the double din too. I'm interested in a new truck in the next year so no point. FoMoCo wins...

Where is everyone getting the 4.6 update? I looked on the owners website and it says I am up to date with v3.7. What gives?

Not sure. When I log in to ford.com now and navigate to the Sync page to look at the history it shows that I updated my SYNCv4.6 on August 9, 2017. Before I completed the upgrade it displayed in red that it wasn't up to date and needed installation.

I have a 2012 XLT. Not the touch screen but it has voice activation. I updated the SYNC to Version 4.6 yesterday. Seems to work good. I'll know better as I use it more.

I use the Bluetooth audio with Spotify on my iphone. I've been using it for about 1 year. As I was playing and adjusting the SYNC settings after the update I got into and application menu and Spotify popped up. Then I looked at my phone and it had a black screen with the Spotify logo and the FORD logo below it. (see attached screen shot I took on my phone)

What is this? Is this new? Is there new features with this SYNC version for Spotify? I just want to make sure I'm using it properly.

Thanks.
