Issue: Cannot default the My Ford Sync system (without Navigation) to Bluetooth audio

Some users are having an issue with when they turn the ignition on their My Ford Sync system reverts to Line-In even though they were using Bluetooth audio when they turn their vehicle off. They would like to have the system revert back to Bluetooth audio instead of having to go through the menus to be able to get to Bluetooth audio or use the voice commands. A Ford customer service representative FordIVTteam actually joined in the conversation and gave the reason why Ford made this change (as it would previously revert to Bluetooth) and the best method to get back to the source they wanted.

Can Sync default to Bluetooth Audio?

Cole our feedback might be heard by someone but it's obvious it's not being heard by the right people to make things happen. We all have submitted our feedback on the Social.Ford website. It's painfully obvious that unless you have 100,000 people complaining nothing will be done.

It's one thing for the vehicle to never have an ability or option. We would all of known it when we bought the vehicle. Plenty of our F150s used to connect just fine. It's becoming a sad joke.. especially the fact it's still in the menu but doesn't do anything. I really wish one of you guys could take the initiative to get something done for us. Like I said before. give me my old software back and I'll be happy, which is sad at this point with all of my other issues. All you guys need to do is throw it up for download on the website.

Data mining; really? That sounds impressive. I think they should forget that web site and just do a web search. They'll mine a lot of "hot button topics" that way.

Are you're saying, Cole, that you have absolutely no internal method to pass this info on to your fellow "valued Ford family members"? Can't you do that? Put together a report from threads like this and just pass it up the chain. You've stated you understand the problem and can empathize with the frustration it causes. Be a team player and rally your Ford troops man.

Given the illogical excuse (saving the battery?) for breaking a feature that once worked, and that the issue has been reported on Ford's site a couple of times now, and Ford hasn't offered a Sync software update for more than a year, and the Ford-Microsoft relationship is somewhere in limbo, and probably a few others... I have little faith that my comments on Ford's web site will have any effect. So no thank you, Cole. I think you're both sincere and misinformed.

I work for a large corporation. I have a directory of everyone working there. If one of my people comes to me with a legitimate issue, I really don't care if one person noticed it or 100. If it's valid, I send it up the chain. I don't start polling people and ask them to wade through some ridiculous bureaucracy. It goes from my desk to whoever needs to know. It really doesn't matter who sends it if it needs to be seen. Pass this to a manager, and let him deal with it. That's what managers do.

What's the point of having Ford people on here if it is just a referral service? One that only refers when the voice gets too vocal? I just don't see this as all that helpful. It is just a form of damage control.
36 pages says that it's not working.

Maybe everybody who has a warranty still should take the truck in and file a complaint under warranty. Every time it's not resolved, bring it back and do it again.

Maybe Ford will notice then.

Right, because letting ford monkey around with my truck and waste my time when it's obvious they don't have a fix for it is my idea of a good time. I just wish I had that much free time on my hands.

I hope eventually somebody learns to mod the bios on these things and we can flash it through a third party, warranty be dammed. I for one would love more options in the dash display. It seems with a truck like this there would be a digital speed readout that also showed your fuel economy as one of the screens you can have displayed, but no we are stuck with a needle and dial as our only indication of speed.

Anything that annoys a person EVERY TIME they drive a vehicle, puts the option of looking elsewhere when shopping for the next vehicle, a definite consideration also....

Bummer that sucks. I didn't realize the systems were different with nav vs no nav. Sorry everyone looks like my trick won't work.

Thank you ford/Microsoft.

Remember - The basic Sync system in other vehicles defaults back to what you were using when you shut off the vehicle. Total no issue in my 2014 Escape.

Wonder why 2014 Escape owners don't have battery issues with Bluetooth being on...

And now, as you see, all of the Ford reps are strangely quiet. The jig is up. Now that we have pointed out how futile the suggestion to visit a dead end site and submit feedback that has already been submitted they are all out of ideas, so instead of damage control they are just going to ignore this thread for another 10 pages and then a rep of a different name will pop in acting all bubbly and helpful, guess what the advice will be at that point in time?

I for one, refuse to let this thread die. I will continue to resurrect it every time I do not see any activity for a few days. This will likely get me banned by the mods for some manufactured reason but until that point in time my goal is to get this thread seen by as many people as possible. I have already directed several people interested in a Ford truck to this website and to this thread in particular.

Here is a great stress reliever that brings a smile to my face. Whenever I get in my truck these days I trigger the sync and say "Bluetooth Audio you !" It still works and it just rolls off of my tongue easier.
