I had it at the dealer today. Must be a common problem because the service writer just about finished the sentence for me when I explained what was going on with my truck.
Anyway, they performed TSB 13-8-10! I will find out tomorrow on my way to work if that fixed it and will report back. I never thought there was an engine miss because there was no power loss and the trucks really pulls hard when you step into it.
I've been going to this dealer for the last 25 years and they always treated me right....so, no concerns there.

Crystal, is there any way you can have my local dealership check my plugs for the correct gap? I have the 5.0 and it exhibits the same behavior as those with the ecoboost. I have been to 2 different dealerships and they refuse to look at it. I explained the nearly 200 pages regarding this on this forum and they tell me that ford tells them it's just normal. So they send me on my way.

The TSB fixed my truck and the fuel mileage (was my concern) is the same as before.

Has your weather warmed up where you are at?

Ford Customer Service
The best person to communicate with your local dealership is your CSM. If you'd like me to pass along this concern to them, send me a PM with your current mileage and a verification of your best daytime phone number.

I too tried to take my truck in (due to a rough idle), but they wouldn't check the plugs. I took it in twice as the 2nd time it had idled so rough one could morning I thought it was going to die. It normally just idles a bit rough while in drive and foot on the brake.
2nd time they told me it was normal and took me for a test drive in another new truck and it behaved the same way while in drive and foot on the brake. They couldn't re-create the rough idle, but it was 20+ deg F warmer when they checked it.
This was at 13,000 miles on my truck so not thinking that was acceptable I pulled my plugs myself and found they were gapped like 0.038-0.042. Manual states 0.033-0.037.
Re-gapped them to 0.033 and while it didn't solve it, it made it much smoother and I never again had a rough idle on a cold morning startup. I've since driven almost 20K more miles and when I checked them about 3 weeks ago one was at 0.034 and all others still at 0.033.

Fully retired now!
Actually, though it doesn't count as a recall, NTSB is conducting an investigation on this matter. It has been ongoing since May. More to follow.
