Getting 14-17 in city, 19-21 on highway in my 04 fx4. About to drive her 1400 miles in a couple days eager to see if I can maintain that highway the whole time.

 

2011 ecoboost. Getting 22 highway, 20.5 mixed.

 

Trip from West VA. back home to NC. S-Cab, 3.7, 4x4 with, 3.73 rear gears.

 

What freeway MPH are y'all seeing the best MPG at? Around 73MPH I get 16 or so but I have a lead foot so Im usually getting around 12-13.5 at 80-85, ...

 

lol. same here. I never get over 16. but I rarely get less then 14.


it's a consistent truck that's fer sure.

 

At around 60mph I'm seeing 22 to 23.

FWIW, if not towing, I average right at 23.4 at 65MPH. When towing, I get about 18.2 when cruising at 62MPH. Of course, hills cause a variance.

 

Great day for big mileage numbers on Sunday because of the "just right" temps, light winds, and a long long stretch of highway construction that kept traffic noodling along at 45mph. Was 26.8mpg for the day but the return leg was 28.

 

wow... that's getting into 4cyl standard transmission Ranger numbers!


I would know. I used to own two of them. great little trucks. I miss the Ranger.
