The Ultimate MPG thread.
It was over a 150 mile trip on the highway. 70 mph at 1500 rpm’s.Taking it easy. It really depends on how you drive. I’ve heard around 40 MPH driving hyper mile.
My dad got a titan and complained about getting 18mpg highway. I drove it on a trip and got 22. Depends entirely on the driver.
I drove my 3.5 from Atlanta to Knoxville via backroads last month, averaging 50 mph. Managed 26mpg. That's as close to hypermiling as I'm likely to ever get.
Nice! i did notice how low your rpms were at 70. 40% better economy does justify the extra cost of diesel. Shame they didn't put the 36 gallon tank in there. 1200 mile range would be insane.

Totally agree with you on your comments about “worse gas mileage the further north you go...and on the many different variables involved with fuel mileage such as weight ,wind, humidity, temperature, road surface, tire pressure, terrain, traffic, speed, quality of fuel and of course the "nut behind the wheel"..” I’ve driven over 250,000 miles over the last 8 years in 3 different but identical F-150 super crews (2012 5.0 and 2x 2015 3.5EB’s) and I’ve always averaged between 16 and 13.5 mpg. Hills, stops, terrain, wind, frequent use of auto start in the NW, and accelerating past slow drivers all play Into the equation obviously. I’ve consistently used regular fuel from chevron or shell. Seems like no matter how I drive, that’s the mileage range that I get. The only exception was when I drove a 2019 EB 3.5 in North Carolina recently. I was able to get 21 mpg under the same driving habits... and think I could have averaged mid 20’s per gallon if I would have kept my foot out of the pedal. That makes me think that location, driving variables, and possibly the year of truck have a big effect on MPG more so than the driver. =jetjoe;6675522]I too am infatuated with the numbers on the display although they have now become so routine and steady that the entertainment aspect is long gone. I wonder if the Ford (auto) engineers had any idea what they started when they decided to display this info right in front of the drivers face? I think it was a plot to to get folks to slow down!
Just another observation which many others seem to overlook. Where you buy your fuel has more to do with your mileage than you may think. I make the two thousand mile jaunt to Minnesota quite often taking different routes. And without fail, the farther north I go, the less I get out of a tank. Some brands I simply avoid as I know it will knock off 50 to 75 miles off a tank. There are so many variables involved with fuel mileage such as weight ,wind, humidity, temperature, road surface, tire pressure, terrain, traffic, speed, quality of fuel and of course the "nut behind the wheel"..But most seem to expect the miles to E to be dead on every time. Not happening folks. And Damn those Ford folks who are intentionally deceiving us!
Guess what folks! It's a computer and as they say in the business, "garbage in, garbage out"! .[/QUOTE]

I'm looking to buy a 2013 f-150 4x4 limited ecoboost v6 and i was wondering what people are seeing in actual mpg on this vehicle. i own a nissan sentra right now and i'm looking for the best truck with the best mpg. Also looking at suv's but most of the mid size ones get the same mpg as the truck.
Any one have any real info?
