Thank you for many great posts here. I have been thinking of a good location to hang a holster in my 2012 FX4. In northern Nevada, there is no law against having a firearm in a vehicle anywhere, concealed or not. I do hold a CCW, but just carry my pistol on the passenger seat or anywhere. It is always safe because I am fully trained in safety first.

I know that an accident is more likely than a break-in or actual threat. I am very safe with my weapons. This is the responsibility we must all honor.

I love Nevada. It is similar to Texas. Perhaps better than Texas... (open up a web here... gotta love it!!!!!)

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gun_politics_in_Canada

According to licences, firearms are classified into prohibited, restricted and non-restricted categories, as defined by Part III of Criminal Code (R.S., 1985, c. C-46)[28] Note: The word "prohibited" is a classification and does not indicate that such firearms are "prohibited" as per the normal use of the word.
Prohibited firearms include:
  • Handguns
  • with a barrel length inferior to 105 millimetres (4.1 in), or;
  • that are designed to discharge .25 or .32 calibre ammunition;
  • exceptions are stated in the Regulations Prescribing Exclusions from Certain Definitions of the Criminal Code International Sporting Competition Handguns[29]
  • Rifles and shotguns that have been altered by sawing, cutting or any other means, so that:
  • the barrel length is inferior to 457 millimetres (18.0 in) (regardless of overall length), or;
  • the overall length is inferior to 660 millimetres (26 in)
  • Firearms which have fully automatic fire capability, or "converted automatics" (i.e.: firearms which were originally semi-automatic, but have been modified to discharge ammunition in an automatic fashion)
  • Firearms prescribed as prohibited by the Regulations Prescribing Certain Firearms and other Weapons, Components and Parts of Weapons, Accessories, Cartridge Magazines, Ammunition and Projectiles as Prohibited or Restricted (SOR/98-462)[23]:
  • Firearm capable of discharging dart or other object carrying electrical current or substance, including Taser Public Defender and any variant or modified version of it
  • Firearm known as SSS-1 Stinger and any similar firearm designed or of a size to fit in the palm of the hand

Yeah. They muddied up the waters so good that half the time the people that have to enforce it don't understand it. Don't forget to add a link to our 2 billion dollar long gun registry debacle. That was a useless disaster. Thank God they scrapped it.

I wish we could carry in Kanada. I would also like to see our self defence laws fixes as well.The victim going to jail for defending their person isnt right.

Kanada isnt a peaceful as you think. We have our fare share of crime here. Best part is the cops tell you to "give the criminal what they want then run away and call the police"

I envy you guys in the usa with the gun freedoms you have there. Hell the ar15 here is seen as a people killing machine that just jumps out loads itself and mows down everything in its path shooting hundreds of bullets a minute.

Now if they would scrap the rest of c68 and c17 then make some normal common sense laws all would be well. Like how is a ar15 restricted but a xcr that also shoots a 5.56 not.

I also see the lieberal Kanadians are out in full force in this thread.

By "assault weapon" I assume you mean a rifle with 2 or more "evil features", which I shouldn't be doing because a pool noodle used in an assault would be an assault weapon. But I digress, if the "one purpose" is launching a projectile at a target chosen by the shooter, then yes it has one purpose.
