I disagree. I live in Tx and we have two Teslas. Our third vehicle is a 2011 F150. I have an order for a Cybertruck but may buy a Lightning.
Texas is not monolithic.

Not talking about 'most trucks', we are talking about an all EV vehicle, and California is pushing harder than any state to eliminate ICE's. Last I checked, coal rollers were still welcome in Texas.

Here's 2020's EV breakdown:

Is that a logarithmic scale?
I think Linear would be better.

California: 425,300 registrations, 42%
Texas: 52,190 registrations, 5.1%

Cali has 8x more EV's than the great state of no winter heat.

You said by dealer volume. I just came up with the dealer volume numbers.

Sadly we all know history is going to repeat itself. Just like the bronco's that have been painfully dripping in dealers with $10K to $25K+ markups.
the lightning will be no different. I reserved mine day 1, likely not see it until 2023,2024.
If I cannot actually order it in the spring, I will order a F150-Tremor or just go buy a rubicon gladiator and trade it in down the road for the Lightning.
At least with the Gladiator I will not lose money( and certainly not pay sticker price )Even the Ford's I am not paying MSRP anyway & when it comes time to trade up to the Lightning !
Worse case hold my truck until the wheels fall off and save my money.
