I wandered into the old Lightning thread this morning...low and behold it was closed! LMFAO!!! What a shocker!!!
Anyway, glad the topic is still going. Hopefully the haters have all left.
I'm very interested in this truck albeit I am going to give the first model year a go before I jump in.
Anyway, just to spice things up a little, for you younger whipper snappers...here's a pic of the original Ford F150 Lightning.
1993 and only available un the US.
Did anyone dealers tell them how much of a deposit will be required? My dealer is saying between 5k-10k. That is ridiculous. I paid $500 last time I built a truck.

I have never in my life paid a deposit on a vehicle order (beyond the $100 for the Lightning reservation itself) and would walk away from any dealer that tried to get one from me. Forget that. You can take your Lightning reservation to any dealer, find one that isn't garbage.

That's insane.
My Lightning reservation (I since canceled) was just the $100 through Ford, however when I ordered a '22 Powerboost they wanted $1k deposit and my got it to $500 which I'm still about but whatever
My dealer is not making me leave a deposit. Local dealer said I could order both a Lightning and Tremor - when they arrive I can decide to purchase or walk away.
Mach-e doesn't require you to order from a dealer though. Lighting will, Either way it will be a refundable deposit if there is one. Without being able to test-drive it and or inspect prior to purchasing you can always walk away.
Over the years, I have never had to leave a deposit. Solely based on the dealer.
If the Lightning had an 8-foot bed, it would be a real pickup truck. The 5'5" bed is more of an SUV. That said, all the other electric trucks (Tesla, Rivian, GM, etc.) seem to have short beds, also.
