2024 Refresh
I didn't line item them yet, but the lack of 22 inch wheels, lack of retractable running boards, the elimination of adjustable pedals, and the bland look of the Lariat interior compared to the upper trims. Those upper trims (In my opinion), just LOOK expensive. Ford took a lot of the "Luxury" out of the 5.0 trucks. I wouldn't buy something only to go backwards. (My current one is a Loaded 701 A/ Moonroof ect.)

22's on a Lariat now requires the 3.5powerboost, no V8.
Thanks for the info, ,,I think I'll keep my 23. I almost bought a Limited Ram 5.7 when I purchased this Ford. Hopefully they can keep the V-8.
I mean... it's a truck first. I don't get bringing up an entirely different class of vehicle in such a comparison. You can easily get an Escape with heated steering wheel and AWD and all that for half or in some configs a third of what a high end F-150 costs, but throw 1000lbs of mulch or gravel into the back of the Kia (or Escape) and suddenly you realize where the money goes.
If you don't need something for that kind of stuff, then maybe you don't need the truck.
Not defending how expensive all vehicles have become, but this particular comparison is just silly.

My XLT stickered for $51K back in 2018. My dealer had $14K in incentives and Ford threw in an additional $3K in "Conquest Cash". So I paid less than $35K for my truck. Which was an awesome deal but $12-14K off was pretty common at that time. A similar '24 would run over $60K actual cost and much of that is because of the way Ford is forcing the option packages. That's a big hell no from me. I'll drive what I have into the ground before I spend that much on a pickup. This may come as a surprise to some of you, but pickups didn't used to cost eye-watering money and were still able to do real work. And it wasn't that long ago!
OK that's enough ranting. I'm just frustrated because I love my truck but I'm not going to pay that kind of money for one. It's not a matter of being able to afford it either, it's a matter of simply not being worth it. Thankfully the kids will start leaving the house soon so I won't really need one anymore.
No tow mirrors on the Powerboost will keep me away.
I love my 21' Powerboost it best feature is Powering my trailer in the mountains. I have a transfer switch installed to power my house in power outages as well. I tow with mine a lot.

I was building a King Ranch since you can only get the Platinum in Darth Vader as I call it or what was the Limited.
My 2019 Platinum keeps looking like a keeper.
The Power Boost is the same price as the 3.5TT but you can not get tow mirrors so that's a non starter.
Ford wants to push the power boost but pushes those of us wanting tow mirrors away from that power plant.
As stated by someone, Ford must not want us to tow with the Power Boost.

I have seen lots of Powerboost trucks with max tow package so, it’s not that they don’t want us towing with it.
More likely is they don’t want those aero killing towing mirrors dinging the epa fuel economy rating on the Powerboost trucks.
