I was afraid to break something and couldn’t manage to get the black piece out from around the center screen. Not the finished piece on the out side but the one under it. Did you leave the center speaker connected? I did and listened for a few days and now listening fir a few days without it. It did kind of mess with the backup alarm sounds and the cross traffic alarm sounds a little. They just sound mostly treble now. But I definitely recommend those kits as well.
I ended up putting they Kicker Key in the glovebox. The wiring harness is just long enough, I wasn't going to try and mount it into too awkward of a place just because.

And unfortunately this harness seems to have a flaw (at least mine did) in that the rear speakers are powered by the front speaker input. You can check if you have this problem by trying to fade the audio to the rear - you will have 0 sound.

This causes you to lose some backup/traffic alarms that only are played through the rear speakers. I ended opening up my harness and make a small change to keep the rear speakers powered by the original rear inputs. This solved everything, now the audio is perfect. I told plugnplay about this, not sure if he recognizes it or has fixed it by now.

So if you turned the fader to the rear you didn’t have any sound at all or you would get music but not the backup/traffic alarms?

No sound at all. With fader in middle/front I have audio, but none of the rear alarms.

Hello all, just picked up my 2021 STX 2 weeks ago. Already wanting to upgrade the audio and found this thread. Mine only has 6 speakers so I assume the previously posted wiring diagram is valid, just without the dash speaker. My plans are to upgrade the factory speakers and then add an AMP with subs. I am going to do this via an Audio Control LC2i Pro. Not sure the AMP and speakers yet, just need to get tapped into the system. Since the AMP would be just for the subs, I had planned to tap the rear speaker wires in the pillars to limit running wires through the doors or tearing apart the dash and running wires from there. What issues will I face?

Thanks for the heads up! I didn't even notice that I have the same issue on mine, I was so happy with the sound I was getting from the front amp/speakers and the added subs... whoops!! Do you have a fix recommendation? Or maybe worth me giving PlugNPlay a call?

Thanks!

Default 2021 F150 Platinum with B/O unleashed

Hey all,

New to this forum. I was hoping to get some help. I’m adding an amp and sub to my new truck…B/O unleashed has no where near the bass I want. I’ve installed many systems in the past but will be keeping my factory head unit since there is way too much technology in this new truck so just want to add an amp and sub. Any ideas where to grab remote turn on with a truck with any to on/off when you are at a stop light and allow it to stay on until i open my door when the entire system turns off?

Thanks in advance.

Does anyone have any contact information for plugnplaykits.com? I want to ask about their kits but there is no contact info on their site.

I just got 2 sets of Infinity components to put in the doors.
I plan to add the kicker auxiliary Ford subwoofer when my parts manager can track one down.
Not sure what to do with the center channel, if anything.
I'm not keen to add amps, I'm just going to upgrade the speakers.
