This is the route I went with, Kicker finally released a shallow L7, it fits perfectly. There is about 1" between the seat and sub when the seat is down, I'm ordering a grill for it just in case it can slap the seat under heavy load.

My only gripe is the terminals are facing the door, its not a huge issue a small piece of black tape can't fix.

Beautiful install. Looking to do similar did you get that box for your sub customized to fit like that or did it come like that? Is there something I can purchase prefabricated like that from JL? Just looking for a clean install like this to fit behind the seat thanks.

When the seat is fully folded up does it interfere with the sub?

It just keeps power on the amp for a minute or maybe more after shutting off the truck tho.
did you run this to head unit harness like shown in the post above or did you wire it elsewhere ?

Default Issues using high level inputs

I wanted something simple so I tapped the rear speakers on each pillar and went straight to my powered sub. I’m using a Rockville 10 and it fits behind the seat. It thumps for what it cost however it goes into protect mode once I turn it over half volume. Any idea what it might be?

Curious to which Model you have that was able to fit behind the seat. As far as protect mode what amp are you using, have you tried lowering your gain settings? Also why not use a line output from the head stereo to power everything instead of using those pillar lines in the rear.

its a Rockville RWS10CA powered sub.
its a combo and good for roughly 200w
it has auto turn on and off based on high inputs.
that’s why I just skipped the line out and used speaker taps. Less wiring and great for a beginner.
