USB-C Module Mod for Console
I installed mine yesterday along with the illuminated PRNDM shifter bezel and multi color cup holder ambient lights. I have sync 3.4 and my phone (note 10) does not show fast charging on the screen when plugged in.
I agree. I’m wasn’t getting a fast charge from it either. I don’t think they are supplying enough power to the USB module. I ended up putting back the OEM and buying a cigarette lighter adapter that supplied fast charging via USB-C to my MagSafe charger.
This is the hub I bought and according to my S21 and my son's pixel 4 both show fast charge. I haven't timed the charging but just going off what the phone screen shows.
The picture shows 2 USB-A ports but the one I received had 1 USB-A and 1 USB-C.

I think it just came in a white box with no info on it. It did have the Ford part number on the hub itself.
I put one in yesterday. I gained illumination but it doesn't fast charge, but that doesn't really bother me.
Data is being carried through a USB mini B connection. If that is for power as well it isn't going to carry enough current to fast charge. There is a second two wire connector that I am guessing is for illumination.

I've done the same. I tried a usb-c to usb-a adapter, but the MagSafe charger wouldn’t work with that. I’m going to look at the part mentioned up thread to replace the one under the sliding drawer. Or I might run the charge cable under the trim to a cigarette lighter adapter in the centre console. I’m impressed with the MagSafe setup. It works pretty flawlessly.
I’d like to have > 500 mA on the dash USB-A but not for $70 when a cheap cigarette adapter behind the center console gets that job done. Maybe my 4” SYNC supports something via USB I don’t know because my iPhone screams “insufficient power” when connected to the dash.
