USB-C Module Mod for Console
Decided to put back the original USB module, and now I don't have any issues with CPLAY2Air. Something must be different with the newer module that has a USB-C port that CPLAY2Air doesn't like. They sent me the latest manual update file to see if that fixes it. I'll need to swap back the module tomorrow and report back.

Have you had a good experience with the CPLAY2AIR overall? I've seen a lot of mixed reviews on it and was reluctant to spend that much to try it out, plus seems there is a high restocking fee if you return and only within 15 days? is the whole purpose to eliminate the wire connection or does this provide more apps or things available from the phone when using this wireless method?
Audio to me sounds fine! There isn't really that much of a lag between button press and the action in CarPlay.
I have a Carlinkit 2.0 being delivered today. I'm going to compare the two and see which one works best!
There are a couple of wireless charging pads available. one goes in your center console and another goes in the little cubby in front of the shifter. Sorry I don't have link to either at this time
I have a 2015 that originally came with a Sync 2/MFT unit. I upgraded to a Sync 3 APIM a couple years ago that was on software 2.2 and I could not get the CP2Air device to work with it initially. Went through the process of fighting the company's customer service as I requested a return and they wanted me to lie on the customs form about the device's description - they wanted me to declare it as a "cheap USB cable" which I didn't feel comfortable doing - so I spent a couple weeks working with my credit card company and ended up getting my money back.
Since I still had the unit after I got my refund, I tried using it again after I upgraded my APIM to Sync 3 version 3.4 and it worked flawlessly. Ultimately decided it wasn't for me though since I really only use carplay on long roadtrips where I'd be more likely to plug in my phone to charge anyway. If you drive a lot or commute a long distance to/from work, I can see how this would be useful.

I know this is directed at kzoojason76, but thought I'd throw in my experience with it as well.

It does not offer any additional functionality over wired carplay. You're essentially just paying for the convenience of not having to plug in your phone to use carplay.
