USB-C Module Mod for Console
Works great. Just needed a little "help" getting seated.
I know I'm resurrecting an old thread here, so I apologize in advance, but for those of you that installed PN LB5Z-19A387-B, did you ever figure out for sure if fast-charging works? I'd try one of the Amazon linked ones, but it appears that they're unavailable everywhere.
I recently fried the USB module in my '19 Raptor (spilled water on ports), so I need to replace it anyways. Figured might as well upgrade.
One thing I'm curious about though--every single Ford parts site that does a VIN lookup for parts compatibility states this PN won't fit a 2019 F150...

I upgraded my 2018 with PN LB5Z-19A387-B last week. I haven't measured the charge rate yet, but anecdotally it does seem to charge faster than the old module did. Keep in mind that you will need to upgrade to Sync 3.4 to use the USB-C module as well.

So looking at the pics provided earlier in the thread, my 2016 has the USB port on the right side of the front console area there, not the left hand side.
It originally was a 2 port USB and didn't allow CarPlay when plugged in, come to find out that 2016 was the year that you needed to have the USB port updated to work with CarPlay so I scavenged it out of our 2017 Exploder since we were selling it anyhow (lol) and its been working fine as a single port USB.
With that being said, I would like to switch over to USB-C port. I have upgraded to Sync 3.4 so would this part still work for those of us which have the ports on the right side of the box and not the left and does CarPlay still work with a USB-C connection to an iPhone?
Thanks!
