Default USB-C Module Mod for Console

Not sure if this has been posted, but I saw it on another group this morning. You can use this part (LB5Z-19A387-B) to change from having 2 USB ports in the front of the console, to having 1 USB and 1 USB-C. A lot of new devices (especially Android) are switching to the USB-C ends on their charging cords and this allows you to have that without using an adapter. Looks like Tasca is listing them for $58.12

I haven't installed as I don't need this type plug, however I do know the module pops out and you simply plug this one in and snap it back in place - it is plug and play.

Definitely a useful item, but most cables have a regular USB on one end and the USB-C on the other. This solution would require you to buy a new cable with USB-C on both ends. I would prefer if I could add a wireless charging pad somewhere.

My Google Pixel 2XL came with a USB-C to USB-C cable, which then plugged into a USB-C charger. I was not thrilled.

Wonder if this change allows full USB-C amps?

Would never pay that much to change a plug though.

This would be great if it supports fast charging.

I agree, someone needs to be the guinea pig :-), I have all I Phone equipment myself, so no need for this type connection.

I did this when I upgraded to sync 3.4 and I have had to problems at all. I have a pixel 4XL and using the OEM cable it fast charges just fine.

yeah all the new apple cords seem to be going to usb-c to lightning plug. Beyond annoying since I’ve got a ton of the old blocks to plug their cords into.

Is this the counterfeit USB C / USB A module that a bunch of people bought before it disappeared, or does Ford officially have one now?

When I search for that part number I don't find any images that match your photo so I am just wondering...
