Does anyone have a video on how to take the old USB receivers out and how to install this one?

You can use this part (LB5Z-19A387-B) to change from having 2 USB ports in the front of the console, to having 1 USB and 1 USB-C. A lot of new devices (especially Android) are switching to the USB-C ends on their charging cords and this allows you to have that without using an adapter. Looks like Tasca is listing them for $58.12

I haven't installed as I don't need this type plug, however I do know the module pops out and you simply plug this one in and snap it back in place - it is plug and play.

it looks like the rings around the ports are illuminated, is that correct?

I installed this probably around a year ago, mostly because I was annoyed that the dual USB A ports were not illuminated in the 2019s and late 2018s and I knew they used to be (if it can light up I need it to lol). This should work in most all vehicles equipped with this port not just F150s as they are almost all they same (except those equipped with only 1 USB port). To be clear it does light up and does work with Apple car play and should with android auto as well I just don't have an android to confirm. To install you just pop out the old one and plug in the new one and done. Electrical connections are the same, which begs the question of this is actually capable of fully USB C charging capabilities. This was installed in a 2019 Lariat. Part number LB5Z-19A387-CB. And a pic of the old one for an idea of the retaining clip locations. (The one I'm holding).

Thanks for that, and from what I understand you have full usb c charging capability only when you have sync 3.4 and above.

I have a 2020 XLT and was concerned with why the ports were not illuminated. Every once in a while when I plug my iPhone up it doesn’t work, no vibration to confirm charging, no apple CarPlay. But if I unplug and change ports most of the time it works. I am working on taking the port out (don’t have the trim tools) to check that the cables are seated correctly or might wait till it is back in for an oil change and have Ford do it.

Can anyone confirm this? I would like to install this on my 2017 XLT, but I don’t have sync version 3.4.

I just made the swap today. Purchased LB5Z-19A387-B from Varsity Ford Parts. Since they are local for me, I just picked it up at the parts counter and didn't pay for shipping.
Swap was pretty simple. It's a bit of a cramped space, and the cables are really short, so you just have to be careful.

The led rings around the ports do in fact light up!! (Bonus!!!)
USB-C port does work to power my iPhone 12. The next time I go out to the truck, I'll listen for the "double chime" that indicates fast charging.

“A” on 2018 XLT is only 500mA, not sufficient to power an iPhone 11.

Anyone have issues with wireless carplay after swapping the module for the USB-C one? I'm using CPLAY2Air, and for some reason now when CarPlay opens the mic (usually using Siri), CarPlay crashes. I don't have this issue if I plug my iPhone directly in. Only seems to happen on CPLAY2Air now.
