Well if it makes you feel any better there are a few million more of us that got ripped off on the NAV system the same as you!

If you use google maps from your phone, there is a setting to mute the google map voice. There are actually 3 settings from which to choose. I use google maps all the time and it doesn't interfere with using the telephone.

Maps are always out of date unless your using an online app. Since Apple CarPlay has google maps now there's no reason to update the truck map.

Navigation is $795. Not $1,200.

Sorry... you are out of luck.

Ford does not have a good history, with distribution of up-to-date maps.. in fact, their history for distributing way-old maps is pretty dismal.

Search in here.. there is a thread, and a place you can order maps, but I do believe your 18 has the LATEST maps. If they appear about 5 or 4 years old, then you are probably there.

I use my Nav for areas that don't change often, or much.. but I always have my Garmin 1490 Lifetime Maps with me, for when I need something reliable.

Some people use Waze, but often, the connectivity to Sync is just not there to support it for many people. It really-really depends on what phone you have, what batch your truck was built in, and a bit of luck.

The rest of the people, just use Google Maps, and a phone mount.

That's interesting, they just sent me a letter saying there was an update available for my 2 month old F150 Platinum for $149 or whatever it was. I just use my phone.
