Default update maps

Just got my 2018 XLT last week. The Gps maps are terribly out dated. How would I go about updating?

Try a Garmin...it has a lifetime update. Otherwise, be prepared to spend about $150 for an updated map set...and it will be over a year out of date...

Since you have the GPS in your truck, and you probably don't want a Garmin in your truck, you can buy the latest maps for your truck. It is a SD card which you simply remove the old one and put in the new one.

One other option is to just use your phone and Apple Carplay or Android Auto. Then you can use Google Maps or Waze instead of stock Nav.

With the 2018 it is not an SD card. It is updated via a USB Flash Drive...which can only be ordered through Ford (which isn't currently accepting orders).

Ok, but again, the truck is a week old. There are several items that i have noted where the road repairs are over 3 years old, but are still not being recognized (they are on Waze and google GPS). I don't like to use my phone as the gps because i cannot make calls at the same time without interruption from the GPS. Plus This is a $1,200 option, WTH?

It does not ever get up to date ever, I have updated my 13 truck several times and it still is not correct in well known highway areas.

Use Waze it is much more up to date than any downloaded map.

Road repair, traffic incidents, traffic flow and closed roads are constantly updated via Sirius Traffic. Did the dealer activate your free trial subscription?
