Default Unable to update Sync

Unable to update Sync on 2015 Ford F-150. Have tried downloading software several times to several USB drives all formatted to FAT32. Vehicle detects and attempts to install software but always ends up with installation unsuccessful, may not be correct version or there is not enough room. Have master reset Sync system.

Guess I was lucky....was able to update my F150 with no issues. Is your USB stick a newer one? Also, delete any other files off of it as well.

I tried updating Sync on my '13 Mustang for about a year and couldn't get it to work.

I have tried a 1 month old 32GB, a 1? year old 4GB and a 2GB drive of indeterminable age. Have called Ford's IT department as well. They could only advise to bring to dealer.

I do believe that Fords website works best with IE. I tried Chrome and had multiple failures. Now its updated but I can't verify the update on the site. Argh...

I tried Firefox initially and it didn't work. I refuse to use IE, but it worked fine for me on Chrome.

IE's a pig. So, you got all to work with Chrome? Even uploading the confirmation XML file?

When you register on the Sync site, it ONLY allows you to download the right version for your vehicle. If there is an update available, it shows it to you and lets you download it. After you download it you can look via Windows Explorer and verify that the USB stick has files on it. Then, follow the directions and do your update.

If you still have difficulty, go here and send a PM with your email address and VIN: https://www.f150forum.com/members/fordivtteam-151573/

Hi smelansonca,

Which system do you have: https://owner.ford.com/how-tos/sync-...ion.html?model Let me know, and I'll assist.

I had the same problem -downloaded the new version to a thumb drive but received an error msg when trying to install.

Was asked what was I downloading to. "Apple"

New version only works with a PC, not Mac. They are working on a Mac version which will be out soon (w/in days they said).

Son downloaded it to his PC and it installed perfectly.
