My truck has Basic Sync (4.3" screen). I just purchased it last week, delivered with V5.8, logged December 14, 2015 in the history. I have been trying to install V5.9. Will give it a go later today during my lunch break.

UPDATE: My system appears to have updated, took the prescribed 20 minutes. I wasn't sure it was even working, after the first reboot radio came back on and screen was normal... patience proved it was still updating. 20 minutes later it did it's final steps.

The only thing it didn't do is update the USB with the XML file. so I can't login to owner.ford.com and complete the verification process...

For MAC users, try a third party unzip application instead of the default OS X unzip tool. I had same issues as OP. That is, D/L'd fine from Ford, and after first attempt with the OS X default unzip tool, also had a bunch of jumbled files not in the preferred/expected three files structure illustrated by Ford help documents.

But when using a different unzip utility, voila, solved. Lastly, remember to move the /SyncMyRide sub-folder and two remaining individual files only onto your thumb drive and NOT the primary folder the unzip tool creates.

Oh, good point. The OP mentioned a 2015, so I assumed he meant that type. To be certain, my previous post was with regards to the Sync2 w/MFT v3.8 that came out some ago (Q4 of '15). I had waited till this week to upgrade b/c of the issues others reported with Siri Eyes Free not working properly. That seems to now be corrected after this week's release of iOS 9.3.

Hey guys, I have a 2013 XLT, with Sync with MyFord. I've tried three different browsers through 3 different computers, mac and PC, and for some reason the owner site won't allow me to get passed the "Download SYNC update" button page, it just keeps reloading it. Is there a direct link I can download the update from?

Awesome, thanks for the help, it is actually updating right now. I'm glad that the forum users on here are so great bc Ford couldn't figure it out for me (go figure)

Is it possible Ford doesn't have current details for your system thus doesn't know what version to offer you? I'm not familiar with '13 MY, but can you run a vehicle health check first? Doing so should ensure Ford knows the present version you have and possibly allow you to D/L proper update. But only a guess. I presume you have an active owner account and your target vehicle is registered to it. good luck.
