Tow hook conversion
If all you wanted was a little light load carrying capacity and trusted it you might could just cut down a receiver tube, drill a couple holes in them, and mount.

The superbumper guys emailed me back this morning with the detailed plans to make the mounts, super nice of them to do that. Looks pretty straight forward if you have the tools to cut and weld thick pieces of steel, but man it'd be way easier to just buy them lol.
With the bolt heads inside the receiver tube there's either no room for the thing you're inserting, or you have to make the receivers stick out pretty far from the bumper. The bracket I made used a piece like that. I think I just need to go back to the plan to mount a bracket to the frame rails instead of to the bumper supports.

you're not wrong at all, but it's far worse than that. It's needs to be an excuse to go spend a couple hundred thousand dollars on a house I can have a work shop in, and then fill that work space with a couple thousand dollars worth of tools. My current townhouse is maxed, my 'work room' is chock full of camping, fishing, hunting, and biking gear with a little bit of space left to wash and fold laundry. I offered to turn the finished space in the basement that I am currently using as my covid-office into an office slash work shop instead of the office slash old couch and tv storage room that we never sit and watch tv in, but that was quickly vetoed by el jefe. I frequently take that "real man" approach - using the 'i have a DIY project' as an excuse to buy new tools that make that project easier to do myself. But the tools I need to do this outweigh my ability to comfortably store them. And my desire to spend all day at my fishing buddy's house using his tools outweighs other comfort factors. So they'll have to wait for a bigger purchase in the near future.
Can someone post good pic of how far these conversions stick out? I'm on the fence about these still. Cant find the image im looking for online. Kinda decided on the d ring tho....just not sure if im gonna do it....
I just completed changing my tow hooks for the AMI Demon Brackets. I did not have any luck with trimming and putting the rubber covers back on. I could not get the look I was going for. Has anyone else just left them off and had any issues in doing so? I cant imagine it making any difference.
