Not really sure what 2.3 does that 2.2 didn't do though.
This is the correct procedure. The download from owner.ford.com must be sent to the local hard drive, then expanded there and then copied over to the USB drive.

As mentioned before, 2.3 is identical to 2.2, the fixes are very minor.

Not true at all. The only difference is between nav and non nav. The only one that is currently locked to VIN is 3.0 for the 2018 Navigator. You cant download it on OASIS unless you put in a VIN from a 2018 Navigator.

Anyone else get this error? Just keep trying?

Download it to your PC, then expand it in your PC before you copy it to your USB. Also, do a master reset on your sync 3 before you do the upgrade.

I have the official 3.0 update from PTS, I dont touch the updates out there from russia et al.

I havent had an problems with 3.0 in the 8 or so months I've been using it myself, so I wouldnt downgrade to 2.3 at this time. I think the only reason people would downgrade is if they want to or need to get sync 3 serviced under warranty.

Did exactly this and still get the MEM_ERR03 error... also tried cycling the ignition, open/close driver door, wait at least 5 minutes for Sync to power down and still get the error - even tried a few ignition cycles after master reset and still can't get past the error.

Found a Sync 3 Technical Discussion thread (https://www.f150forum.com/f118/sync-...ussion-399837/) and it sounds like they've had to resort to splitting the install but hesitant to try it.

How do I get my hands on 3.0? There seems to be some success going to 3.0 then back down to 2.3... if 3.0 will install and is stable, will skip 2.3.

3.0 should be coming soon coinciding with the version of Waze that integrates with Sync 3. I will wait until its available on owner.ford.com.

Do you know how long overall it took for your truck to get updated?
My truck has been sitting overnight in my driveway for the past 5 nights with the wifi router 10 feet away with good signal, and I still did not get an update yet.

Oddly, I couldn't seem to get it to work at all from my Macbook Pro. It wouldn't properly expand (unzip) and place the files in folders the right way. I'm sure that there's something I was or wasn't doing, but I'm not as familiar with the MBP as I am with my Windows PC.

I'm having the same issue and just read a thread that indicated that you MUST use a 32GB USB drive. I'm using a 64GB so I'm going to pick up a 32GB and give it a try.
