Shocking
RANT
The rear hop skip and jumpout. Does anyone know if there is a TSB regarding the twitchy rear end characteristics myself and several others with new 150's are experiencing? If Ford is addressing it then I will look that route first. If Ford is not recognizing this pucker moment, I had better before I get tossed into someone elses lane.
I know many people swear by the Hellwig or the other springy thing, but I really don't want to bolt on a bunch of hardware to make my truck safe unless I have to. (I can just hear my Chevy Truck buddies saying... you had to add that stuff to make your truck....safe?)
Anyway, I guess if I have to spend more money to make my new truck safe to drive, as I did with the headlights... then I will upgrade the rear shocks if anyone has seen improvement through this.
END RANT
Does Bilstein sell a 5100 for a 16?
Or if not, do I choose between, and can anyone rate the follwing?

Any others I should know about?
Is there a vendor on this site that discounts any of the above products.
Thanks in advance for your opinions.

I don't think Ford sees this as a safety issue and doubt they will even address it with a TSB. I know people are all over the board on their opinions on the Hellwig but I can honestly tell you I've noticed significant improvement since installing it. It's all but eliminated body roll while turning/cornering that keep it planted should you hit a bump that would produce the hop and IMO helps tremendously. Even if it didn't help at all with the hop, I still think it's the best dollar for dollar mod you can do. I will be upgrading shocks when I get my lift done to hopefully improve it even more.
I looked through some of your previous posts, in one you said you added BFG K02's in stock size which are an E rated 10 ply tire. You altered the ride characteristics of the truck beyond what Ford had originally designed the factory shocks for. Ford does not offer E-rated tires from the factory on F-150's. The heaviest they offer is a C-rated. By that logic, why should they fix it? It's your due diligence to change the shocks to something that handles your tires better. Pay to play. The same thing happened with BMW cars, some folks replaced the run-flats with regular tires and found that there were some odd bump-steer issues with their car afterwards. They designed the vehicle to use run-flats. Same concept.
I have factory 275/55/20 tires on my truck that are actually aired up 10psi and I have zero rear end kickout, and I have the crappy regular 4x4 shocks. My work truck has the factory LT275/65R18 C-rated Goodyears with FX4 shocks and it also has zero rear end kickout.

Interesting observation, however I was under the impression many folks here have the kick out issue with stock configurations. I understand I increased the sidewalls of my tire because Ford actually thought it was ok for me to tow my RV with p-rated mini-van tires with my Tow Package equipped truck. I'm actually just trying to bring my tow vehicle up to the level I thought I was purchasing.

I think the biggest issue is the shorter leaf springs with the lighter truck.
The Goodyear tires Ford put on my XLT w/tow package were P-rated. What shocks did you have best results with.
Thank you again.
Thank you again.
The factory Goodyear Fortitude tires aren't actually a P-rated, but I get what you mean. I've put oversized 10 ply's on my last 2 trucks and I had major rear end kickout issues until I upgraded the shocks. I didn't have the same issues with the factory tires. Just my $0.02.

I've driven a lot of trucks in my life, and I don't feel like mine jumps around any more than any other truck. Its just part of having a truck. It gets a lot better with weight in the back. Maybe yours is worse than mine.
FWIW, I have the Boss Ultimate kit from F150lifts.com installed and they're great. I also have larger K02's (285/65/20)
Can someone explain the circumstances that occur to cause this issue and what exactly the truck does? I don't think my truck has the problem, feels about like any other truck I have driven with a light rear end but maybe I am not in the same driving conditions as you. Certainly never felt out of control or like a pothole was going to make me hop into another lane. Not sure if that was an exaggeration or literal above.
