RIP Ruby
Was driving last night and ran through a lake effect snow streamer, could not really see the road at all, then out of no where this truck is in the middle of the road coming right at me, I swerved to miss him, couldn't have been more than 6-12 inches from a head on...had the kids with me. Damn....
Glad all good this time.
Be safe
Yeah tell me about it....Fk'in idiot was going like 100km/h on a two lane secondary highway. I think it was a RAM pickup from what I could see, so that explains everything...lol.
Damm the bad luck, glad everyone was not hurt. It happen to a friend but his was a new GMC. They sent her to the salvage and then he bought a 20 year old Ford 8 yrs ago and have not put a scratch on it. I don't know what the lesson is here but it WAS a Beautiful truck.
Willing to bet it's close to totaled, will need new cab doors interior panels, rear end, box side, and that's if the frame isn't bent, which it could be looking at the rear end
I would suggest hiring an attorney. Dealing with the insurance company is a nightmare. After my total loss accident, even with the atty I don't feel I got what was deserved. So I can only imagine what would have happened without one. Hope all works out well for you, good luck!
Edit: commented halfway through reading the thread....Glad you got hooked up!

Another thing to consider with GAP insurance is to check whether your credit union offers it.
Dealerships are usually around 800+ for gap
My credit union ( also who I get my loans through ). $299 for gap.
You insurance company may also offer a warranty up to 100k miles for a new vehicle with a 200 deductible. Cost me about 6 bucks a month, I never had to use it though.
Especially important if you rolled in any "negative" equity into your purchase price ( some thing I had to do this last time due to lemon I couldn't get lemoned, when the robotic welders come up short on the welds, to the point it's leaking inside, there is a problem)
